I never knew that... that explains everything.

    And how...

I'm with Carloseus, if it's over hype I will be pretty pissed, especially after the hosing given to the diablo 2 patch news thread when it started getting out of hand.

Maybe it is Diablo3.com becoming an official Blizzard fansite? That would be anti-climatic in my opinion.

I believe Blizzard will do a massively good job on their movies - just like their games, and if the movies don't go too well, they will just not release them to save their reputation. :)

Sorry but you are wrong. When movie studios get involved (Warner bros in this case) there are financial backers who will not stand to have their investment written off - it will be released good or bad.

I hope we all get honorary beta invites for long term members if it is announced on this website :P

I sense a zombie hack plan to replace all google and youtube bookmarks with diablo3.com ones. Everyone would be like WTF?

Obviously Umaro believes silence is golden since he chooses his posts carefully. Personally I am taking that as yet another sign that things are heating up (pun intended) in the realm of diablo.

Are you a little bit, err.., retarted?
Don't get me wrong, im also Apple User, but wtf?
1, Who wants to play on an Iphone?
2, Who wants to play on any Cellphone?
3, Who can play at one?

I would like to see you, doin' a Baal Rush, Casting, Running, and Looking for Items on Hell, with your cellphone and only 2 Fingers..
Completely silly. Before that the hell will freeze.

No I am not "retarted", whatever that means.

Asking who wants to play on a phone is quite "retarted" though. You would think small mobile games machines had not ever been created. I know why don't we merge the technologies? Oh yeah they are already. New phones can handle 3D graphics just fine.

Tryijng to steal my thunder, eh?:D

Diablo 3 = iphone (or cut down version thereof). I still think they will go beyond battlechat though for D3 - although certainly will have chat and auction house apps for D3 on the phone.

I'm sure the iphone could handle it with the right resolution and trimmed graphics.

Far as I know, Frank Pearce said the Diablo team currently has 40 developers.

That was 2 years ago when they first made mention to team 3 wasn't it? They have recruited a fair number of people since then, like 4 level designers only the other month.

My dad works for Apple, and the iphone and ipod are essentially computers. Both have Mac OSX Leopard pre-installed on them, so it is conceivable that you can program Diablo 3 to play on it.

Exactly my point! They will be doing Diablo 3 for the Mac (a certainty since they do every game for the mac too). If you have already adapted a game for the Mac, why not just go ahead and make an interface for the iphone as well?

This isn't going to happen. They are making some WoW features for the mobile phone, and that wont even be out until next year.

The WoW features include things like checking the auction house and messaging other players online.

Err, if they announce Diablo 3 at WWI it is not going to be released until end of next year at the earliest. They will have plenty of time to achieve this.

    good luck.

But, do they announce those sort of things straight away? I wouldn't want them to, I hate it when people talk about mobile phones. It feels like spam, or a pop up window in my brain. "Get diablo on your mobile now! Free diablo ring tone!" great...

thats how it feels for me when people start talking about mobiles, at least.

It'll change. As mobile broadband gets better more of these subscription games will start to appear. It's a repeat revenue source which is gold for commercial enterprise.

Also Blizzard mentioned they wanted to build some kinds of wow inerfaces for mobile phones like the ability to chat online. I am sure they will be considering games too.

    You heard it here first....

I bet when Blizzard announces Diablo at WWI in June they are going to announce a mobile version of it too and specifically mention a version for the iphone.

What proof do I have? none. Why do I make this call? Blizzard started hiring mobile platform programmers last year and Blizzard likes a big target market. The iphone already ahs Spore mentioned for it so Apple must be seriously working with serious game companies.

I'll bump this when I'm right and conveniently forget about it if I am wrong. :D

Well to be fair Diablo is not a focus of their marketing attention at present and the Blizzcast really is a marketing tool of a kind.

The other way to look at it is they want to get a lot of information about SC2 and WOW out before the Diablo media blitz starts. :D

Don't listen to your illustrious leader, George Bush, it is NOT OK to torture any living creatures.
