I don't like the idea of "checkpoints" really, but then reading an idea is a lot different than experiencing it in action and I trust the Blizz guys know what they're doing.

God damn. I can't access it from Singapore. It looks like it's only available in the US. :(

Unfortunately, that's true. If you read the last paragraph of Medieval Dragon's post, you'll see that:

Players in the regions iTunes serves (North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan) can purchase the music at standard rates for each of those regions.

No, you can't set up an account without a payment option.
Also, bear in mind that you may only create an iTunes account within the region in which your debit/credit card is issued. That is to say if got your card say, in France, you may only use the French iTunes store, not any other.

You're not screwed though. If you can get yourself an account, you can get all Blizzard soundtracks as they're available pretty much in all regions of iTunes store. The only disadvantage is that there is no free download discovery program for non-US customers at the moment which means getting Diablo III Overture is gonna cost you. Of course if you don't care much about sound quality you can always rip it from Diablo III artwork trailer as its available there without any sound effects, dialogues or something... if I'm not mistaking...

Diablo III Overture seems to be a part of something called "Download Discovery" where they offer a track of different genre each week for free download. This program is only available for the US iTunes at the moment.

Bear in mind that Diablo III Overture is only available for free until next Tuesday.

And yeah, they charge for it elsewhere at the moment because apparently this thing was released in European iTunes earlier: it reads June 2008 in European iTunes in contrast to the August 2008 release in the US.

Nice interview. I always thought the voice actor of Cain is as old as the Cain himself hehe

So Gough's done recording Cain's stuff for now. I wonder if what he recorded is that journal thingy on the website or actual lines for the game. Perhaps the interviewer should have asked something like, how much he recorded so far or something.

How about that level 70 Tauren (the cow in Terran Marine suit from Blizzard's April joke) this time? This could also be a homage to StarCraft and WarCraft at the same time.

posted a message on Music suggestion - less epic, please
I read on a couple of websites that Matt Uelmen left Blizzard after WoW: Burning Crusade maybe that's why a new composer was chosen for D3.

I didn't have faith in Russell Brower's music at first because WoW: BC's music was a dissapointment for me but I recently had the chance to listen to his "overture" for WoW: Wrath of the Lich King and I must admit I was truly impressed. Hopefully he'll deliver more of this kickass stuff for D3 too.

posted a message on Guns in Diablo 3? Maybe?
I prefer the old sword and sorcery better. Guns may work for some people in WarCraft games but I for one don't like to have them in Diablo. It sounds stupid to battle big "D" with a rifle, if you ask me. But seeing how they're borrowing stuff from WoW, I don't think one can rule guns out... :-/

If the heavens vs hell plot is involved in any way, I say the new logo is very fitting. The top part may represents the high heavens and the bottom does that for the forces hell.

Agreed! That's the same face in the trailer, guys. He doesn't have the goat horns that hook around his ears to the font of his face. He looks like he's in a damn exoskeleton. I'm almost 100% certain that that's not Papa D. I get the feeling Diablo will have a part in the game but it's going to have a twist. How? I don't know but I see the civil war between Azmodan and Belial in Hell playing a big roll and the return of the Prime Evils pissing off a newer, stronger Belial off which is going to set a chain of events into place which will make Belial the final boss. Then when the expansion comes out it's going to center around Hell being back under the control for the Prime evils.

It doesn't look like "papa D" at all, I agree. But still I don't understand why one would add this fella's face beneath a game title that reads DIABLO. Ah well, let's wait and see.

Since when are we so sure that's Diablo in the trailer? If that's him then I'll be a little pissed off as it looks nothing like the one in the first two. I'm not saying he doesn't look cool. I'm just saying it doesn't look like Diablo. My bet is that's Belial. He seems like the kind a guy to be that pissed.

This "creature" is red and have a scar on his forehead still, maybe he's no longer the Diablo we used to know, hence different looks?

Exactly which picture are you talking about?

I like my games to make logical sense for the most part also.

The one on the website with Diablo III logo on top of it. So we have a greek III letter there in a form of light beams. Two of the beams cross this red fella's eyes, the other one crosses his forhead scar.

Please stop trying to make logical sense about a fantasy game world....

The scar is significant because of the soul stone was so vital to his survival and power.... It's a scar that has it's own significance... Further more we don't even know who this is, obvious guess is Diablo, we don't know the back story, if he has been reincarnated, or anything along those lines.

Basically... this is a waste of a thread. No offense but please stop talking about things no one knows enough about to discuss....

I do like to make logical sense about a fantasy game world because in case of Blizzard, things always make logical sense in one way or another.

That red fella on the website's picture has got to be Diablo. I see no reason why they would add a different character's portrait on the bottom of the game's logo which clearly reads DIABLO.

Lastly, just because you don't know the answer or have no theory regarding this issue, doesn't mean everyone else is the same. I got some really amazing answers to such questions in the past from people here. You don't like logical stuff about a fantasy game, that's fine, leave it, go to threads that interest you more.
