Obliouvsly they wanted to sell the most copies of the game by making it low req. and so they had too use low resolution textures and very low poly models, and if you do so, you have to go cartoony, cause you cant put much details in. Quite a bit disappointing for me, I would have much preferred a prerendered 2D enviroment but with richer details like diablo II. Anyways I'm sure it will still be an amazing game for the outstanding gameplay blizzard will surely be able to put in, still I know I will soffer a bit if I want to linger a little looking at the environment, those parallelepiped columns really hurt me :|, well bread for modders I guess :). Anyways I hope it will be fast paced and carpal-tunnel-generating enough to not notice it
it doesnt look that cartoonish, the outdoor level showed some amazing lighting and the HDR and shadows really give it a darker look imo. i just hope they increase the graphics on the player charachters because they dont look too detailed atm
and also remember games change graphicly from announcement to release, look at these crysis pics from the first ones released in 2006 to the actuall ones

2008 - actuall release

seriously idk if i have to pay and im personally hoping its going to be an mmo to replace wow
but try to make the game less linear and give players different ways to progress at high levels so that there is lots of different ways to become powerful and well geared
hope there is skill in the game too and its not just a my 1010 spell damage lets me kill you because you only have 1009 spell damage.
and yeah, dont hold back on graphics, age of conan looked crap and it needed significant hardware. make the game look better than crysis imo and make everyone get 3k computers lol
and guild citys are a great way for a guild to contend in pvp. letting players join multiple guilds and have territory carved up to player factions is great (look at eve online and the massive factions that declare war on each other)
diablo 2 might have been about progressing through acts and killing a boss at the end of each one but d3 will be nothing like d2 gameplay wise. also all the prime evils are dead so prehaps d3 could be a like a really dark world after the prime evils have died and its more about human darkness than big baddys from hell. but under the surface that old evil is biding its time to strike again.

it clearly says Baldurs gate and not Badurs gate on the cover, i have played through BG1 and BG2 including the Throne of Bhaal expansion so its not like i dont know the game. dont mean to have a go, and if you can tell me why its not spelt like that i would be interested to know.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldur%27s_Gate_%28series%29
and when i scrolled down to the Baldurs Gate 3 section i found this
"In the January 2008 issue of PC Gamer UK, the editor claims that he knows that Baldur's Gate III is indeed being worked on."
could this be the secret PC Gamer is currently Withholding?

i am hoping diablo 3's graphics will be similar to oblivions in the way its all 3d and everything in the game has physics, i also hope it is played in the first person mode like oblivion because diablo 2 is about combat, not liek wow and its semi turn based crap. oblivions graphics are perfect for d3, just make the textured much more detailed, make the models more detailed, give it a more advanced lighting system and you have a brillient game
