Im a level 60(3) wizard. Im trying to decide betwixt end of Act I or beginning of ActII (Inferno). I don't think I'm ready for going deep into ActII; I die enough such that repair costs outstrip gold income once I get passed magda.
Also, I think Im getting better loot at the end of Act I, and more gold too. The loot is all crap - I've done 3 butcher runs and not got a single item to show for it (maybe a marginal piece of armor). When I do find a level 63 whatever, it does like 300 damage so its just useless.
If you can't clear Act 2 I'd highly recommend farming Act 1 since it is pretty easy. My guess is you'll be able to finish your runs fairly quickly compared to Act 2 so you'll get more rares per hour, and if you save gold on repairs you make more gold per hour too. That extra gold adds up after a few runs, especially if you're just starting to gear up and don't have several million to spend on gear yet.
I farm the end of A1, since the 1.0.4 patch i havent really found anything worthwhile per say.. however i have a DH that does 42k with no buff. if i want to even try A3 i need more dmg.
However honestly i think you just need to keep at it. There are days when poeple dont find anything worthwhile and then others that they are scoring awesome stuff. And i think it also involves alot pf patients because i have gone up to a week without anything worth while dropping. It all just depends on how fast you can run it and how efficient you are it.
Also some people think that the amount of MF% you have makes a huge difference. And seeing as how 1.0.4 has been made with the paragon levels im assuming it wouldnt hurt to even get some MF% (that is if you dont already have it)
My advice is just keep running what u can gain the most gold and find the best stuff. i was running skele king for prolly 3 weeks straight till i got enough to do butcher runs. And then had to AH the hell out of my gear. Now im running butcher and hopefully i can find something of value so either i can use it or put it up for sale.
If your having trouble after magda then i would stick to the butcher or early act 2 like you have been doing. After some time you will find something that will make all the time you put into the grind seem worth it. :Thumbs Up:

Exactly this. I can do a butcher run in about 40 minutes, clearing every level seeking out champions/elites. I might die, but for the most part I obliterate everything I find. I didn't consider the time per run aspect of this strategy. Good advice, thanx.
