DH has 80k life? I play DH as my main with WD as my #2... No monster has ever attacked my DH pet. Though I have only used the bat/ferrets.
some pets cant be attacked, like Hex, Spider Queen and Toad of hugeness. and thats makes the HP on them irrelivant, it is possible that some of teh DHs companions cant be attacked.

They still need to do something with it though. At the moment they are just a joke. The whole reason for me playing this class was simply due to the pets.
While I've managed to get through belial on inferno with the class, something needs to be done. To scale them better with vitality and LoH (even if that is through the passive) is probably a start.
I'm just looking at Act 3 at the moment questioning whether I want to continue trying it (my gear isn't that good).
Don`t quote me on this but there are some people out there saying you can end Act4 using an pet build. All you need is a very specialized build.
Around 5k Armor, 800 All Resistances, 2,000 HP regen, 10% Freeze/Stum on Hit, 12k DPS. Jungle Fort, Zombie Handler and Fiercy Loyalt are your passives. Flame Dogs and Big Stinker are your summons. Healing Journey for CCB and healing pets. Splitters pluss one good spender for attack. The last slot go for Hex, BBV or FA (w/e suits you).
You will need around 20kk in items. The thing is CC on Hit are WAY to hard to drop, so it`s kind expansive. This is the real issue in the build =/

and looking at the codes on the pets it shows that
Zombie dogs has 11355 HP ( http://www.d3lexicon...bie-dog#inferno )
Gargantuan has 32445 HP ( http://www.d3lexicon...gantuan#inferno )
Fetish army fetishes has 81113 hp it seems (http://www.d3lexicon.com/data-monster/witch-doctors-fetish-a#inferno)
In this thread http://us.battle.net...opic/5978460209 it has been tested that pets has around that number in HP so the other should stay true.
monks mystic ally has 32445 same as gargantuan ( http://www.d3lexicon...-ally-2#inferno )
and what supprised me the most is that demon hunters commpanion got a whooping 81113 HP ( http://www.d3lexicon...r/bitey#inferno )
it has been shown that pets scales from dodge, armor and resist and HP stays the same.
