Ok two things.
You may have only one aura on at a time (Hello Diablo). More Paladins, more auras.
As far as the Devotion aura is concerned, it is an issue I have discovered for myself. Turn the aura off, and place your pointer over it. It will say +300 defense for example. Look at your character screen now and check the defense. When you turn the aura on, you will discover that the aura adds more than just the 300 it says when you look at the skill. at least thats what I found.
Hmm. Well that's interesting. Yea I was curious 'cause I noticed the more def being added to the total but it wasn't showing from the devotion, so I knew either the Devotion numbers were wrong or the total numbers were wrong.
Also, dang! I was hoping for like 4 or 5 auras. Lol. Any suggestions on which aura is best?
That really depends upon the situation, but normally you won't be using the resistance auras outside of instances. In groups though they can really help you out, especially he fire resist aura I've noticed.
Soloing I guess you' mostly use Devotion aura or Retribution aura, depending on your build.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Edit: And why doesn't the devotion aura's def go up when I put a talent point for it to go up?...)
