Seeing as I played the beta on a laptop with a slightly better graphics card I can honestly say that you won't be able to pull more than 40 fps (even though the beta wasn't really optimized) no matter the settings. You may possibly run the game on the highest settings but only in solo mode, because the increased number of players in co-op drastically reduces the performance.
Anyhow, you sure will be able to enjoy the game, but some things like shadows and FX might have to be a bit tweaked from time to time.

Only in theory. People with integrated Intel graphic cards are playing on low pretty smoothly. My 6490 with 1GB DDR5 dedicated pulls the highest settings on 30-35fps in single player mode. And I only need to reduce shadows to play smoothly in 4 man co op. Hell, before the latest patch I didn't even have to do that either.

your processor is fine and so is your ram your graphics card is a little low so as said above you will be on low settings.
but just a few tips
1. make sure you have all the latest drivers thats; windows, chipsets, g card, sound ect..... everything
2. defrag your HDD and run a full disk error (the defrag = roughly 30min-1hour and disk error = 1hour-2hour depending on the size)
3. when you playing the game just close out all nonessential background programs running (you shouldnt really need to, you got enough ram)
4. most important is make sure your power managment is set to high performance very important this
( windows generally defaults to balanced performance but just go to control panel and power options to change if not on high performance).
I have an i7 Sony Vaio laptop with much better specs and it plays like crap too (my PC handles max everything fine). I have to turn all the effects to a minimum level to be able to move around with stuttering all the time.
My laptop is similar. Core i5, 6GB RAM, Radeon 7450M(basically the same card). Played on open beta weekend...as long as you turn things down a bit you'll get around 40fps with vsync on. 50-55 without but there's a lot of screen tearing.
Whenever I try and find out what my laptop's GPU is I get:
AMD Radeon HD 6500M/5600/5700 Series
Is that even a card, or series of cards? What does it actually mean? (Also, can I run Diablo 3 on it?)
It's several related models. You should be able to see something more specific if you look at the the "Display Adapter" section in Device Manager, or if you use a tool like GPU-Z.
Diablo 3 should run well on this system, but maybe not at maximum detail depending on what screen resolution you use. Turning shadows off is the best way to get more performance without hurting the visuals too much.
I have a 1600x900 laptop with similar specs. i5-2410m (2.3GHz, but no turbo boost), 8GB RAM, and a 6490m. I was able to play it at 1600x900 with medium settings and still had around 40fps.
Is this a "should I buy it" thread or a "here is my laptop, I missed the open beta and will it work thread"
Looks like a fairly recent p/n so unsure which! I agree w/ other posters...based on what I've read it will work but not well. Low settings on a lower screen resolution should allow for play on low :(. Not as fun as it should be, but it'll save cost. I think the passmark rating on your card is not much above the integrated graphics for some odd reason

I am no expert in terms of computer specs.
Do you think a Sony laptop with the specification will be able to run Diablo 3 smoothly?

Low setting on the desktop version clearly suggests that the mobile series will be on low..

A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
