WTB downvote buttons

Many other forums I frequent have the same problems as this forum. Over opinionated people spamming the same hate filled drivel in multiple threads. The difference is that those other forums allow us to down vote people in order to eventually not have to see their posts. Instead once down voted enough all you see is a "post down voted, click here to expand". I notice that this forum has the capability for upvotes, so I am under the assumption it also has the capability to have down votes as well. Why is this function not enabled?

Down vote buttons are a super valuable asset to forums as they let people know that the community at large thinks their opinion or post is unwarranted, wrong, or not needed. Many threads on these boards are currently doing nothing but cause a war between actual D3 fans and D3 haters. A majority of this could be halted and maybe even stopped completely with down vote buttons thus reducing the work the mods should be doing.

So if a mod with the actual knowledge can make a post here and explain why down voting is disabled, I would love to hear it. I bet many others would as well.

The main issue with this is it will be miss used. People will not use it on just "bad post" they use it on everything they don't agree with.
However, ill pass this along to others, and keep looking for thoughts.

I can already see it before me. A circle-jerk of people who go about to bash down posts that they do not approve of.

    A cartel.. of dislike buttons.

Well that's why you also have upvotes. For a post to be blocked it would need more down votes, by a certain number, than upvotes so overall it would ultimately be the forums community deciding what the community wants to read.
