Yes as Elfen and i are here hourly deleting ad's, porn links, merging double post (somtimes tripple post uggg edit button lol) and goin through the news forum, reading user made threads and deciding whether or not to allow them to be posted. Also we run the guild with guild updates and answering countless pms from new members. i do read through most the arguments we have on this site, and call me somewhat laxed if i dont edit/stop every other flame war that begins. i tend to edit out really explicit stuff but the mildly explicit stuff doesnt bother me much. Its everywhere on the internet x 10.
Elfen and i try not to make our prescense known on this site much with modding because if we went through editing everyones post all the time it would not allow people to be themselves (for better or worse) anyways i know most of u love this site as much as I do so, "IF" we do choose another mod to be added Elfen and I def dont want to see some power hungry member try to take advantage of it. Like stated elsewhere. They have to be Neutral, Respectful to all, and very dedicated as i think myself and Elfen have been.
lord silver you behold everything , make the guy mod who you want to.

As far as getting rid of useless threads that belong in the spam section, I think the mods do a good job of getting rid of those. When people are acting like idiots and are flaming/trolling, well, there are lots of users willing to give those people a logic smackdown. At any rate, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have another moderator.

Agreed. I think the case with these forums is that at the moment another moderator isn't necessary, but there's no harm in reducing the workload for the current staff.

flame is the bigger problem i think, but generally if people thought about, i mean really thought about what they are going to say most of the heavy flame wouldnt exist. most people here are pretty good at that, but i cant stand it when i thread about something like what classes might be in D3 turns into lunchtime in the elementry school yard. i want to see what people would like to see in D3, why should i have to put up with people resorting to childish name calling.
I usually just delete most of it, but im kinda falling behind lately, ive been working longer and harder hours and im rather beat by the end of the day.

Exactly. Maybe you should set up a group of moderators (like two or three people) who's jobs would be to help monitor posts and reduce spam, bots, flame-wars, and thread necromancy. They may even help put an end to childish arguments while still remaining neutral. The biggest problem with these conflicts currently is people taking sides and joining the arguments themselves. If we had a few neutral problem-solvers, the situations might be difused earlier. This would allow you and the other staff to take care of bigger, and more important, matters.
I wrote up a hefty document several months ago for my own moderators at another forum which covered everything from news posting to ending flame wars. I can post it for the current mods if they wish.
I guess if we could get the current mods up to par, it would be just as good as having another staffer.
but some of us are pretty busy with other things, i try get on here in more of a moderator capacity as often as i can, but with 8 hour days 6 days a week with no computer is often hard enough to post the little amount i do now, but i do try to get on here and mod as often as i can.

Ahh that sucks man. Wish you could post more. It's a little more quiet with you gone... except a few who are keeping it... not so quiet (you know who you are )
I think one more mod would do for now. I can still sometimes see threads that need to be tossed into the fires.
At least Phrozendragon still posts now. He was quite the poster too. ATM, I'm too lazy to see if they are mods - well I'd be too lazy no matter what time, but I think Thasador, Carloseus, and Siaynoq would all be fine mods.
Pretty sure Carlo is already a mod though...? *shrug*

hmm unless some people just their status' removed that list seems a little small
Admins: Umaro, Mockery, Demine0, Odijuar
Super Mods: Elfen Lied, Silversurfnstud
Mods: Darkjay, Opus Dei, AcidReign, Maestro, Thatdude, Cyks.
well everyone in the mod category can view the moderator only forums (as can the Super Mods) so i assume they are mods.
but as you may have gathered some of these people havent been on in awhile, it would be nice to add some new people who are here more regularily.

I agree with Elfen Lied on this topic. Elfen Lied has his hands full of deleting spam threads, governing the forum, and many more that he does...Maybe having a mod that is on regulary will improve alot of things here.

Please Do Not Ask To Be A Mod here. I've already made it clear once that I find it disrespectful, and I don't want it done in my thread. I have problems with you Zubin, and you can ask to be a mod all you want - just not in this thread.
It's common for threads to break down in such a way, isn't it?
Seriously though, maybe there should be a poll listing possible candidates, then close that poll after a certain date and that person can be the new moderator. Even though we already have some good people willing to do it anyway. I'm just wondering why those people haven't been made mods by now.
Well, in the end it's Umaro's decision. Most forums aren't republics; hopefully Umaro will look over our nominations when he has the chance but the poll won't necessarily matter.
Yeah, I didn't think it would. We already have a pretty good consensus of who would be a good moderator. I only know there's a few I wouldn't want to have as moderators.
