Is it frowned upon here to restate something already said in the old suggestions thread because you want it noted again?
The thing that is really annoying me is the number of massively outdated/dead links on the home page linking to things like the "Diablo 3 Petition" (which is obviously no longer needed), the chat room link, which does not work (well the link does but the actual chat room embedded in it does not), and all of the trademark activity and Diablo 3 hint links that are now pointless. Think those could be replaced by things like the stickied/official threads for information about Diablo 3, like the character classes/item threads (not the duplicate ones)? And maybe an updated chatroom that is functional?
Sorry if this was a bad idea reposting this, but it's been suggested in the past and nothing has been done about it. Now the links are entirely pointless, so I feel that it's more important that they be removed/updated.
So, the current one looks baron on the right for low resolutions, and my iteration looks clumped on the left for high resolutions. This is quite a quandary. *ponders*

Dunno if it got fixed because of this, but thanks for doing it
Edit--
Eh, well, the chat room still has a big ol' red "x" in the upper left-hand corner, but the links got cleaned up, so I'm still happy.
umh .. if this topic is related to this forum
- let the upload image in avatar and singnature - work as it should be.
at the present - i can not neither setup my own avatar or upload and use a picture in my signature.
Avatars are temporarily disabled due to the influx of new members and will come back eventually. Just a matter of time
Avatars are just turned off at the moment to reduce demand on bandwidth or something, they're supposed to be back up soon. As for images in your signature, it seems to be working fine for you. If you're experiencing any problems with the uploader, you can always just host your image at a site like photobucket and link to it from your signature.
I may not be a senior member with a huge post count that most everyone else in this thread is, but I have some input that may be helpful to the discussion and benefitial to the site.
I have been coming to the sight for a couple years now to read the news and rumors about Diablo 3. I joined way back, but for the sake of my sanity I thought it better not get involved in discussing anything until there was actually something real to discuss. Had I been talking about the game all this time the waiting would likely have killed me :P. Now that the day has finally come I'm quite anxious to join in the fun, though I have been deterred by the same storm of redundant posts that seem to be bothering many of you. Most of these posts often lack any insight or useful information, and those that do are lost in the shuffle.

It seems this problem has given many of us the same idea that there needs to be a way to separate the good information and discourse from the bad. I don't intend to add to the discussion about the forum clan, but rather offer a related idea. Aside from a private forum I suggest a system of featured posts or articles. The idea of this system is to allow well constructed, insightful ideas, theories, and arguments to be expressed in a place that is highly visible and easily accessible to everyone. This would work to benefit more than just the senior members, but everyone that visits the site. With that great link Blizzard has given us, there will likely be a lot of people looking here for insight they can't get from the official site. A prominent voice of reason such as this will help increase the popularity of the site, and with any luck, reduce the influence of the complaints and inaccurate information that is spreading around the general forums.
Of course, this does not solve every problem. It isn't a substitutes for a real discussion, and in turn, wouldn't remove the need for the forum clan.
I hope I am not rambling too much. It seems, since the game was announced, I can't seem to get much sleep ;). Since it will likely be quite a while until I can actually play I may be in for a rather long haul.
Thanks for reading. I'm interested to hear what you all think.

This seems like a very promising idea. I'll bring this up for discussion and see if it's worth shooting for.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Your posts were deleted because they are against the rules. They have been deleted again. There will not be a banner poll.
Please submit any serious suggestions you have to improve the look and feel of the forum
You may post your banners for fun, but not actually submit them for use on this site.
Rule? What rule? The Jetrall monopoly rule? Its diablofans, not diablofan. Give me one good reason why we cant hold a poll to let the fans decide upon the banner.
First off, it is an actual rule in the list of Forum Rules and Etiquette LINK (see the last entry in the Etiquette section), so insulting me by implying I'm trying to hold some monopoly is not necessary, nor appropriate.. especially since it clearly says "The Design Team" not "Jetrall".
Secondly, here's one good reason -> The Design Team (not just me) gets to make all decisions about what images are or are not used as a part of the site design, so your poll would be a total waste of time for everybody, because none of the images there would be used.
Not to mention (once more) that it is against forum rules.
EDIT: To address your quote there, note how it says SUGGEST not SUBMIT. There is a very big difference. If you want to make suggestions, that's perfectly all right - and encouraged. But trying to get the Design Team's work replaced with your own is rude and against the rules.

I'm sorry for coming off offensive but this is ridiculous.
Before I answer your questions, I'd like you to answer some. You know, it's not my job to sit around here and explain the rules of the forum to you when they're clearly spelled out in the thread I linked you to.
It's my turn to ask...
1) Why do you feel like the banner needs to be replaced with one fan-made?
2) Why instead can't you offer suggestions to the design team (who are more than willing to take them and put them to use) rather than submitting ones that won't be accepted? This would be totally within the rules and allow for fan influence over the design decisions - to a reasonable degree.
Now to answer yours...
The Design Team (as far as I am aware) consists of myself, Umaro, and Atrumentis. I, however, am the Lead Designer which (again, as far as I am aware) allows me to nix / change ideas and concepts as I see most benefits the forums.
We could use a fan-made banner, but it would bring up too many issues. If twenty people make banners and only one is chosen, all the others will feel excluded. If we tried to put all of them on a rotating schedule it would either take up a ton of extra server space (and we need every last kilobyte these days) or a staff member would have to change them manually - which would get annoying and confusing. Arguments and flame wars could potentially ensue as well.
Additionally, we don't want to bump into any sort of legal issues. Since this site is an official Diablo III fansite, the staff here (including the Design Team) get special access to some things other sites don't. This includes exclusive news and interviews and the like. It also includes permission to use their logo and design elements. This (as far as I am aware) does not apply to the average user.
Now, nobody cares about usage in signatures or avatars or anything because you members aren't making money off of your signatures. WE however, ARE making money. We sell ad space on this site and may sell merchandise and the like somewhere down the line. If we use a banner not made by the Design Team we could potentially get into some trouble by making money off of an illegally used Blizzard trademark.
LASTLY - the rule was drafted and put in place by myself and Elfen Lied for the reasons listed above. If you still want to contest the rule, please do. It will only earn you infraction points and deleted posts. I'm sorry if I'm coming off like a facist dictator of design here, but I'm really just looking out for the best interests of the site and its users. I hope you can understand that.

New banner
I know jet is the artist for this site but I thought I would try to build on his work. I'm tired of feeling useless on these forums.

Why cant they use a fan submitted entry?
And who made that rule?
