Moderators are not supposed to be mean, they are supposed to be fair. Mean moderators are jerks, they have a bad day or they don't like you and they go hop around giving people ban points.
Moderators are supposed to be fair yes, but what happens is that the "victims" of moderation see the mods as mean, because they were straightened out. It's a natural response.

and some other random things, doesnt matter though, like i said everyone uses it. (also the prejudice about gender, race, etc,...)
But thats just who we are and we know we know better but its imprinted into our brain (like; be afraid of spiders, or be afraid of something that smells weird, etc,...)
People are alwasy judged by their gender and age, but here's where the Internet once again is beneficial. Just shut your mouth and everything works out for the better

I thought you, the king of grammar, would understand that I was asking Elfen who was he talking to. If that sentence was adressed to you, it would be something like: "Specify who are you talking to, will you? Elfen?"
Well, this goes to my first impression of you. I assumed that you weren't as good at grammar as I was. Especially since English isn't your first language, if you are, indeed, from the Ukraine. So, I assumed you were asking about who I was referring to.
I'm trying to say that your profile said 14, and I remember that pretty damn well.
What? This is news to me. I'll check that out.
Asking to be a mod (or even asking if you should be) just seems innapropriate to me.
We've gone over this in the thread already. It was suggested to me. I didn't 'sign up' for it.
Sorry in advance, but AIBO your an idiot.
Way to disregard a moderator's request. You're just trying to piss people off.
Thanks, but... I wander how many posts of mine have you read to consider me... stable...? I'm as unstable as anyone. You should read the discussion me and muttonchops had. About me having or not having an opinion or whatever. He totally pwned me there, lol. It was funny, though, I wish mutton would take that stuff less seriously...
Anyway, I'm below 18, actually, 37 is a fake age made to avoid certain people...
Wow, you are truly a brutally honest person. That's very admirable. But I don't just take anything seriously. I become serious at perceived ignorant remarks. I have indeed misjudged you.
And speaking of moderators, Sianoq and PhrozenDragon are a lot better candidates.
Yes, I would definitely vote in favor of them. In fact, I think they would make better candidates than I would. Perhaps I should make a thread for their nomination, instead of my own.
Equinox, doesnt a moderater have to be a little mean? although it comes natural to Mutton (joke)
I chuckled at that.

Yes, moderators are supposed to be fair and, at times, somewhat critical of rule breakers. But I must admit that when I get into arguments, I do go over-the-top. But that's just for my own entertainment.

And zealots? that would make them 2000 years old instead of 40.
Keep this discussion to PMs or a separate thread. It doesn't have any bearing on moderatorship.
It's no use. "said" is past tense, your profile says 16 now... maybe it was someone else's profile? I'll go check on a few people.

Yes, but mean moderators are different from fair moderators... it is easier to see when the forum rules are clear, but when the forum doesn't really have any rules (like this one doesn't), it becomes problematic for a moderator to decide how harsh exactly should he be.

That is surprising to me. While I do enjoy a more passive approach we have here not crammed with rules, almost all other, and definately all the serious, forums I know of have rules that are clearly stated and that moderators enforce.
I think that if D3 is ever announced that will have to be changed, and it may come naturally.

he was requested by elfen, well not requested, but put the idea out there for him.
yeh i said make the thread.
id rather have the thread, then have people say "no i dont think you (muttonchops) will make a good mod", than make him a mod without the thread and then have people complain about it.
ultimately its not my decision, its Umaro's, but the best mods i think are people for the people, of the people and by the people, that was the case for Silver and I.

Well i haven't actually been to these boards for a long time but I'm trying to get back in the game but from what I've read from your posts you seem like a pretty reasonable guy (albeit a little strict). But if you were to become a mod all the power to you and I for one would not vote against you.

Okay then you said him to take people's opinions and my opinion is always right.

so ok, let me get this strait... this guy mutton, who has been a member for almost a year and only has 400 posts wants to be a moderator? dont you think there are others that would make better moderators? like the people that actually post on a regular basis? people who are up to date, and who know all the rules and bells and whistles of diablo3.com?

Well, first of all, 400 isn't a bad number of posts to have. I've seen several new members kind of just disappear after twenty-something posts. Second, post count isn't that important. Everyone knows that. As long as one has posted enough to demonstrate they are level-headed and have a good understanding of the way a forum should operate and all its rules. Third, there actually aren't that many others that would make good moderators. Not because they couldn't, but because they wouldn't be that willing to do it. Fourth, there's little to no moderating on this forum anyway, so we could use another moderator. Lastly, mutton seems more or less indifferent to being a moderator which is a good disposition to have. Sure he's rough around the edges at times, but he's also fair and well-balanced. After reevaluating my initial stance on this issue, I've come to the conclusion that he'd make a very decent one.

oh and i think blizzard, unfortunately, would listen to them more respectively than, say, 14 year olds
though they do respect their fanbase very much, ill give them that

And I thank you both for your compliments.
Zealots are unpredictable... I prefer to avoid zealots. Sometimes they creep up at you.
Yeah, and all assassins are 2008 and a half... zealots are fans in extremety.
you probably just read the last 5 posts...
well anyways
get back on track and talk about muttonchops being a moderator, shall we?
