In an effort to encourage more permanent members to sign up, as opposed to these "one-hitter-quitter" members, I think there should be more forums and subforums. For instance, in the off-topic discussion forum, perhaps subforums should be made, such as news/current events and entertainment. Also, a forum category should be made for general gaming which could be broken down into gaming-related news, as well as console specific subforums.
If more forums like these are created, in order to provide more interesting topics, other than Diablo 3, I think it would help to create a more solid member base.
But I kind of like the "one-hitter quitter" type. They're usually shot down pretty fast. Which is fun like clay pigeon shooting. And the ones that aren't show potential for being good posters as they hang in there and estabilish their credibility.
Well, they're fun for a while. But just because we have a more developed dedicated member base doesn't mean there won't be the retards to knock around.
More forums right now would be nice, but I'd hate to see +20 forums with all they have being around 10 threads or so each, that just seems pointless. And slightly depressing.

I'm sure there will always be people for you to shoot down, don't worry about it.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

No, I don't mean to split everything into the tiniest form possible. I mean just adding a few off-topic discussion forums, as well as some general gaming forums. I just think it would be more encouraging to talk about other things if forums were made to make it more clear.
Yes, but that shouldn't stop us from talking about other things. By giving us other things to talk about, while centering the forum around the discussion of diablo 3, we're building a tightly knit community of gamers, which I believe Blizzard would respect far more as a fan base.
whe nthe site gets bigger the general off topic section may be split into several more specific forums.
TV and movies
Books
Non Blizzard games
but right now the site is fairly small so Umaro has no intention of splitting up the Genera lsection, but maybe he will later.
ive talked to him quite a bit on the subject.

Well, I visit a forum with 400 members, of which 30-40 members are active and it is just about as active as this forum. Not to mention that the forums are split up much more specifically than here.
So, perhaps at least a splintering of the general discussion forum is in order. Possibly into at least 3 forums. Maybe, General gaming, news/debate, and a lounge or watercooler.

It'll cause discipline in the forums and also cleanness.

2-3 sub forums within general discussion could be nice.. i mean we have the spam forum but that just keeps the useless stuff outta the main forum. LIke u said a forum on other non blizz games could work nicely.
I think we have somewhat of a lounge type forum in the spam section (its listed in general discussion at the very top if somehow u have missed it)
-Non Blizzard Games
-Entertainment (TV, Movies, Anime, books comics...)
-and something for serious stuff; Religion, philosophy, government...
then you have the the General section for stuff that does fit anywhere else. course they would have to have diablo-esque names.
im still waiting to hear back from Umaro though.

We need a debate forum! All in favor raise you hands!

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
well, some people enjoy reading the thoughts of others, and if that means reading an entire book full of info, than that might tickle your fancy [damn cant belive i just used that in a sentence, althought improperly]
yeah i agree with deleting accounts, even if we WANT more people to be on, we cant just have false hope by having a lot of inactive members that it will help
like WoW has like 8.5 million subscripers, 2-3 million are active...
big difference.

but arent these forums for diablo 3 discussion, and other blizzard games / current events?
because i dont wanna have to go to 4 different forum sites to ask / talk about 4 different things right?
its all about variety disregard my last post \ but include it in your rational reasons to agree / or disagree

Speaking of non-posting users, I think people that did not post for a month should be deleted automatically, unless they are some special people.
Not in favor of a debate forum, debates are narrow and boring and too technical. I just prefer intelligent arguing.
