Anti-Spam Guide

  • #1
I think that we should make a spam section, where you can spam all you want, yet the post count will not change. This will make the spam alot less, because now, people cannot spam for more post counts. If some one is spamming outside of the 'Spam' section, then we will give that person a 'warning', this 'warning' will be in red color, located under your Username, this will be seen by everyone, and everyone will acknowlege that you are a spammer. Once someone gets five warnings, they will be banned from this site ( may be IP or Account Ban ).

    And that's my Anti-Spam guide. ^^
    no flames please

Pretty good. I agree with you on that. But I fear that this community might split in two and I know Lord Silver wish this not.

    how so? explain please
ps. do you mean that, half of the site members will only spam, and other half will be serious on the D3 subjects?

I am well aware of all the spammers and I frown opun these spammers. I also agree that people who spam, just do it to gain post counts and shouldn't be allowed. I understand your point of view as well and I agree no doubt, but I fear alot of members would leave this community and shoot down overall population. I know Lord Silver seeks this community to be the most famous and losing population is not making this true. I hate spammers and I see what you are trying to achieve but we should just deal with them another way. Don't mark them as spammers and dont seperate them from our world. We must find another way. The warning system works well, but labeling them is not the best approach. That is all no harm.

Still, I think we should have a specific section where all these 'spam' messages can go into, ( section is specially edited so that the posts inside that section does not increase your post count), sound good?
and take away the warning things

alot of spam is cleaned up by myself and elfen....When we see mulipke post in a row we merge them together...making 3 post into 1...This does decrease their post count as well

a warning system could work like u stated As elfen and i have the authority on this site to issue out warnings and such.

not sure if making it so your post total doesnt go up can be done, but an area for spammage threads can be done, ill talk to Umaro and see what can be done.

im guessing you cant really get rid of those salespeople, they keep creating new accounts, and i think that its more than one person working for them -> cant ip ban them, they just do it with another computer. what annoys me most is those double and triple posters, i use the edit button, they write like 5 one-liners and post each one of them.
