Pretty cool to have you come by and tell us what the future brings. I'm sure you're pretty well suited to judge an expansion that you haven't tried.

It's a safe bet to assume the complaints will go on.

I'm having a hard time understanding the hate towards "Enchanting and BoA". If you don't want to enchant, by all means, don't. Trade it to someone who is willing to do it. It increases the range of viable items. It also means that more items you find could potentially be good. If you don't want to enchant, like I said before, trade it to someone who will.

There's a "huge" outcry for permanency or meaningful choice. We now have a "permanent (BoA)" and meaningful choice and they all complain about it >_>

It's almost as if people were only playing a single character. Your BoA item will most likely be useful for another class you have.

I don't see that much hate towards BoA on Enchanting, and i really like that echanting an Item takes it out of the economy. But i do share the hate towards BoA on Transmogrifying an Item.

TLDR.: I'm fine with binding my gear to gain power, but i don't see the point in binding gear for cosmetic character customisation.

There are complaints about every things existing in the world, so yeah...

Looks like I will never transmog or enchant something. You're never done gearing in diablo. They removed the AH to establish playertrading and longevity in the market, and now this.

Seems really strange... What do they target with this? The people who transmog and enchant wouldn't/can't inflate the market to begin with because clearly they never plan on trading so what are they going to achieve with this?

Sure you could enchant and transmog early items you find, before your gear gets to a stage where all your pieces are valuable, but when that point is there you're there forever. Even the best geared players currently in D3 still occasionally find/buy/trade for an upgrade.

EDIT: I realize a lot of people are in favor of this feature. But I wonder, what can you really do with an item once you've enchanted it? 99/100 of them will be useless once you gear past them. Cross-class items are going to be even more rare considering Loot 2.0 drops can roll skill-specific affixes....

Nope, go watch the video. They removed the AH so that finding your own gear was feasible and satisfying.

I don't get those people who want to eat their cake and still have it. No real world good retains its value after personal use. At least no clothing.. ;)

Lots of fun to be had with this.

Yeah, and I should know, I've tried selling 2nd-hand underwear.

This is awesome! I can't wait to hunt for items in order to save for transmog :D

    • Legacy items (items that drop before [the expansion/pre-expansion patch] goes live) will not unlock unique item appearance, but they can be Transmogrified.

I am very surprised that I did not see many people picking up on this ... If I read this right, items you have NOW will NOT unlock the item for transmog in RoS ...

Did anyone else take it this way? ... If that is correct, three bank toons worth of transmog items are about to get salvaged, and I'm not exactly thrilled about it ... =

Especially with the removal of the AH, trading will be much more common.

    What?

Well, if you define 'trade' as 'non-AH trade', then technically he's right. :P

Yes that is correct, I meant non-AH trade like Player to Player, Chat Trade etc. or the trade where some lowlifes try to scam you :o

Account bound on Transmogrify has got to go, No one is going to use it if it stays. .

I sure will. I don't care for trading with other people, I want to get my experience from playing with my friends and solo. As do many other players.

Sorry I have to disagree as this has not been my experience at all. When this expac, loot 2.0 and all those awesome Legendary affixes drop, Non-AH trading will be highly desirable. There is going to be so many synergies between different pieces of gear that people are going to want to trade to make awesome builds or to experiment. Also with loot 2.0 every Legendary in the game will drop at your level all the way to the new lvl cap. So imagine trying to farm for 1 or more specific pieces of gear out of the 252 legendaries that are all ready in the game, not to mention all the new ones that are going to be added in RoS and Loot 2.0.

Even though I disagree with your comment I still respect your perspective because I find self-found a lot of fun and I know some people will only play that way but in my experience most people try to get the best loot they possibly can get their hands on.

I stopped reading at: Also, once you Enchant an item, it will become bound to your account and can no longer be traded to other players.

Why would this be a showstopper ? if you find an item with almost godly stats, you can still sell it to someone who want to enchant it for them self in stead of you enchant it for someone and than sell it. I think this option even gives people a higher chance to sell because you give the buyer the option to do whatever they want with it. I wouldnt buy a pre-enchant item, i want to have that option for myself..

The "show stopper" has already been mentioned numerous times in this thread and on the official forums. But let me summarize: They want to pull this game from the septic tank it currently sits in, a lot of these changes coming with ROS and loot 2.0 do that - That's good. They don't want to give you the freedom to trade top tier items WITH Mods (ala Diablo 2 socket) - That's bad. It almost, and i mean ALMOST seems like they don't want to give in all the way and just flat out admit they butchered the absolute DOG piss out of an amazing franchise.

I'm not trying to make a buck off this game, I want it to be fun. Self found? Absolutely fine. No Auction house forces face to face trading? - AWESOME. Finding a piece that's damn near perfect, socketing it, then randomly by sheer will of the gods finding THE perfect piece and not being able to do absolutely ANYTHING with the one you socketed? Fucking Horrendous.

It is indeed a safe bet to assume that when several million people try the same thing, at least some of them are bound to not find it perfect. That's the case with everything in this world.

So, uh...anyone else checking out that "possible properties" list?

    Reduce Cooldowns of all skills?
Reduce Resource cost of all skills?

And the widely demanded...SOCKET!? That's gonna make some people happy.

Also...funky new crafting materials, check that out!

I dont know why your so happy. Talking about all these new stats you can roll when you cant, Because everyone will have to re roll magic find because your only going to get a shit amount from paragon points. The chances of finding perfect gear thats got magic find and the stats you want already? Not going to happen. Played for 4k hours + never seen a good item like that. sorry.

The only 2 ways you can avoild it is by gear swaping again whice is something nobody likes. The 2nd way is to forget bout magic find. Sorry did that the 1st 600 hours i played I never seen 1 set ever drop. So good luck ever getting an upgrade for people doing that. Funny how they make all these amazing changes just to fuck up the game and magic find system they PERFECTED.

I cant belive i am saying this but PoE is starting to look good...

The console version could provide a good perspective on magic find. Ironborn mode is a lot more practical on console than pc version, and with the auction house closing on pc, I can only see pc magic find becoming just as good as console.
