Below you'll find a list of hotfixes for the month of September which address various gameplay and service issues affecting Diablo III on console.
Hotfixes are updates we make on our end without requiring you to download a new patch. Some hotfixes will go live the moment they are implemented, while others may require a restart to go into effect. As always, please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a patch (Sony) or title update (Microsoft).
SEPTEMBER 9: Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue that caused specific set bonuses on the following four item sets to permanently modify a hero’s core stats (STR, DEX, INT, or VIT) each time they were equipped and the hero was loaded into the game:
Blackthorne's Armor
Endless Path
Guardian's Contingency
Zunimassa's Whispers
Please note that this hotfix will only prevent new occurrences of the bug. In order to correct core stats on heroes who were affected by this bug prior to the hotfix going live, we will need to provide a separate patch (for PS3 users) and title update (for Xbox 360 users). We're currently hoping to deploy this patch/title update by the end of the month, and will provide another update once it's live.
Malthael's Motivation
We already pretty much knew what was going on in Malthael's head, but it's always good to hear/read it from a Blue, so check out a little confirmation on what is going on in Reaper of Souls' plot.
Malthael seems more like a more neutral sort of character. He isn't strictly good or strictly evil; I believe his motive is to destroy all demons. It just so happens that the Nephalem are half-demons as well as half-angels. He didn't kill Tyrael because Tyrael is not a demon.
You've got a pretty good point! We'll have to wait for the expansion to get all of the details, but here is the basic premise for Malthael's motivation. The Lords of Hell are no longer a threat, and the Prime Evil has been defeated. Humans are the descendents of angels and demons, and are now the most powerful demonic force left. If Malthael can quickly strike them down, then the Eternal Conflict will be over, and the Angels will be victorious.
Whether you've been mercilessly slaughtering demons in Sanctuary since last year, or you've recently picked up a copy of Diablo III on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, you've likely spent some quality time fighting back against the minions of the Burning Hells. And with each battle fought and adversary conquered, you've earned some sweet experience to make you an even more formidable force.
For our latest community question, we want to know: What's your highest level character? Tell us a bit about them – What class are they? What's their name? How long have you been playing them?

Artisan Showcase: The Diablo Dubstep
Between the expansion announcement, the console version release and BlizzCon, there should be a little different type of fun as well, successfully provided by Refraktion and promoted by Blizzard in this week's Artisan Showcase. It's actually a great background for killing demons and other monsters!
♫"...Understand, friend, that entire worlds burned, as Heaven and Hell fought over the Worldstone..."♫
Haunting dialogue and sinister beats come together in Refraktion's latest music creation — a dubstep song with a Diablo theme, entitled "Final Boss," which he shared on our Community Creations forum yesterday. So take turn up your bass, and prepare yourself for the drop in this week's Artisan Showcase!

Cool, so the story is not only going to be full of cliches and atrociously cringy dialogue, but also completely predictable...again. I hope the Crusader and Act V will be worth it cause I'm considering not even bothering with this.

A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head!
I also wonder what the point of these community questions is. Like they don't have detailed data on all our characters, their class, name etc. due to their always online requirement.

They release the hotfix for set items not working properly but can't give a single answer about console Demon Hunters being unable to use melee weapons at all. ALL OF THEM, no exceptions. You can, on PC.
I would like to know why you would want to use a melee weapon on a DH.
Sorry but there is no Bakanishu achievement on console. And even if there was (or is part of the challenges), you'd still need to get all five classes to level 60 to get all achievements, so you're just arguing to argue.

The first console hotfixes are here and they focus on the well-known issues of the PS and XBox version of Diablo III.
