    How Soon is Soon for the Itemization Patch
    Yesterday Josh Mosqueira did what turned out to be a mistake by tweeting a reference to 'Game of Thrones' (or so it is said to have been), but with a little tweak - 'Loot 2.0 is coming...'.
    This had a snowball effect and Lylirra had to get the situation in her hands in order to cool the steaming crowd passion.

    We've no additional info to share about Loot 2.0 right now, including when those changes will be released, but we'll definitely be revealing more and more in the coming weeks/months--so stay tuned! As the developers have noted, we'll likely have more details to discuss at BlizzCon, as well.

    Okay, so! Just followed-up with Josh regarding the context for that tweet (since all the links seemed to be lacking exactly what he was responding to).

    The tweet was in response to whether or not the loot improvements/changes seen in the console version of Diablo III would be coming to PC. The answer is yes, that many of those improvements/changes will be coming with Loot 2.0 (which actually inspired a lot of the updates to itemization for console). As for the tone of Josh's tweet, think Game of Thrones! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    I didn't miss the point, but thanks! I was just clarifying the question Josh was attempting to respond to (and the meaning behind the response itself) since his tweet was being shared out of context.

    WHEN DO WE GET THE FIX THAT WE NEED, NOW THAT CONSOLE HAD SOME OF THEM. THEY EVEN HAVE SHARED PARAGON ALREADY, WHY NOT PATCH THAT IN OUR GAME NOW.

    TL;DR: Because Loot 2.0 (which is made up of up a variety of different features and changes) is still in development.

    Something to keep in mind is that, not only does Loot 2.0 encompass a larger number of changes than those made for the console version, but it's also intended to complement other system updates that will likely have an affect on the item game, things like skill re-balancing, Paragon 2.0, and the addition of features like Loot Runs and Nephalem Trials (which are still in development, too). While we could implement some things here and there in a very piecemeal fashion, in the end it makes more sense--to us, at least (we understand if you might disagree)--that all the components of Loot 2.0 ship together, since they're so closely connected and are ultimately intended to support and build off one another. This does mean more of a wait, which we know isn't the perfect scenario for a lot of players, but it also means that, when Loot 2.0 does ship, it should be a much more fleshed out and complete experience than if various features were implemented on their own.

    What does the Game of Thrones line mean?
    Lylirra already explained the meaning behind Josh's tweet, and the fact that many of the improvements/changes seen in the console version of Diablo III will be coming to PC with Loot 2.0. That's it. There's nothing more to read in it. Josh's tweet was simply meant to emulate the cadence of a popular quote ("Winter is Coming") from Game of Thrones.

    Best Class for Console
    A few members of the Official forums decided to not waste their time experimenting with the different classes in the console version and to straight out ask what the 'best' class is. If you are among the players who got their hands on the console version on the first day of its release and already had the chance to try it out, give us your opinion as well! Which class feels most natural and seems to be the best in the console version?

    I've tried all of the classes at this point, and I feel like they all have relatively the same learning curve when you're transitioning from the PC version. Personally, I think the "right" class is the one you have the best visceral combat experience with. I've been having a lot of fun with the Wizard as my primary alternate, but I ended up playing a Monk as my main.

    Yeah I play a witch doctor on hardcore for PC and I feel like it would be probably the hardest to control. Barb/monk does seem like a pretty choice to start out with.
    I know what you mean about some spells being a little tricky to aim (like Grasp of the Dead, and Arcane Torrent), but it gets easier with practice. I quickly formed a habit of holding down the Left Trigger (target lock) as soon as I see my intended target light up, and that has helped a bunch.

    I took a detour and bought the game on my way back from work...

    BUT I GOT HOME AND COULDN'T FIND MY PS3.

    Blizzard sure is slow to develop things eh? No real new content to speak of but changes to a system. How come other companies dish out updates in a better fashion than the biggest one of them all? I'd bet their code is so difficult to deal with that making any changes takes more work then it is suppose to. They should know by now that re-configuring systems is almost a must because of the changing nature of gamers and how off base blizzard nowadays.

    Lots of companies can dish out more updates but it doesnt always means its more polished or better. Theres a new Call of Duty every 6 months, which generally reuse almost everything. Diablo 3 may not have been the greatest at launch, but in general, Blizzard is known (and got big to begin with) because they may be slow, but they bring really polished stuff to the table.

    It's funny seeing people debating about Blizzard's "Soon" again. In Blizzard's mouth, "Soon" just means "it will come but we don't know when or don't want to tell you". It has nothing to do with the english word "soon".

    Completely agree with this. When Blizzard says "soon", it's pretty much anything but. It's their way of saying "We don't know, so shut up about it".

    They're really redefining the art of milking a game. Re-releasing it not once but twice (PS4 release confirmed), and the worse part is people actually rush to buy it...

    And people say Activision had no influence on Blizzard when Kotick's moto is that if something is milkable for next 10 years, its not worth producing at all.

    That is a really pessimist way of looking at it. There's milking a game... and there's wanting your game to be as available as possible on as many platforms as possible. The game being out on consoles doesn't hurt you, and it doesn't hurt you that people "rush to buy it". So cheer up and enjoy that the game you like is being played by more people.

    bought it mostly to play with my gf , i dont get those weird fps drops as i do on the pc even tho my rig is too powerful for the game. also wanted to see how does it play , and all i can say is- it plays well and i feel like its money well spent with all the updates and better loot

    why not let other ppl try the game as well? especially since it was made with the consoles in mind in the first place
