A presence more sinister than any demon hangs over Sanctuary….
It watched from the shadows as a hero of nephalem lineage struck down Diablo, the Prime Evil, and trapped the demon lord within the Black Soulstone.
It waited in silence as the mortal armies of Sanctuary crushed the leaderless remnants of the Burning Hells and scattered them into the stinging winds of Kehjistan.
Now, as hope springs anew, its long vigil has ended.
Shrouded in mystery and imbued with a power as ancient as the universe itself, it comes to the war-torn world of Sanctuary. It cannot be stopped. There is no escape.
The next chapter in Sanctuary&'s epic saga has been unveiled. Prepare to take on Death itself in Diablo III's upcoming expansion set: Reaper of Souls.
In Reaper of Souls, players will explore haunting new environments and face down fearsome new enemies within and beyond the world of Sanctuary as they seek to unlock the mysteries of Malthael, the Angel of Death.
Stalwart adventurers can choose to continue their journey as one of five existing heroes—the Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor, or Wizard—or adopt the mantle of a new class: the Crusader, a fierce melee warrior whose command of the battlefield is matched only by his unwavering conviction.
Advance through additional levels of supremacy, mastering bold new powers of raw, demon-slaying potential along the way. Customize your strengths with an improved Paragon system. Battle your way through newly randomized 3D maps and epic new quests in Act V. And test your mettle in all-new game modes—including Loot Runs and Nephalem Trials—designed to provide players with a highly replayable (and highly rewarding) end-game experience.

Was about to ask that question myself. And I'm also curious to know how Loot Runs will work exactly, sounds a bit like a different version of an endless dungeon that people have been asking for.
Not so sure all of this news is fantastic actually. Spent days getting my gear sorted and now it will be worthless?
I do not envy the 6% crit Mempo owners!
Game will come out in 2014. That's a lot of time.
Until then, everything you acquired will be well spent.
Too true but we cannot unsee those new 3k dps items. We now know that we are literally swinging the equivalent of a rigid poodle at Azmodan in comparison to those god items.
The Good:
-Monster design looks cool. Blizzard always makes the monsters look great, too bad you never see them long enough to appreciate them.
-Crusader/shield focus. Makes shields matter, of course, I'd like to see the same for other classes, too (give shield-only skills/runes for Barbs, Monks, etc).
-Account binding. Limit the gear inflation problem. How this wasn't in the game day one is beyond me.
-The potential of Trials and Loot Runs. We'll see how it shapes out, but getting rid of the usual map farming is better, and the usual map farming was better than boss runs in D2. Progress! (Slow, but progress!)
The Bad:
-Manual stats. Looking up a guide and clicking the buttons the guide tells you to isn't very interesting. Stats, as is, need a major overhaul, but then making you click the stupid button to place them doesn't help that problem, either. It was the right idea to get rid of it in the first place. Too bad they bungled the gear/gems/stat math so badly.
-Enchant re-rolling. Too narrow, and no more rolling. Crafting/enhancement shouldn't be so gamble-prone. It's why crafting is such a boondoggle right now. If you gather up the mats and gold, you should be able to get what you want.
-Crusader Wrath. Probably work in progress, but "generate/spend" is too prevelant a resource mechanic. Try something new, or if you have to keep doing it, try it in a new way (combo points, proc-only skills, etc).
The Ugly:
-Magic find is still in the game.
-Crit damage is still a stat. If it's a paragon button stat, even worse.
-Zero word on PVP. No arenas, no Capture the Flag, nothing. Guess that one brawler map and a 30% defense buff are all we get.
-Again, ZERO WORD ON PVP.
First of all, I'm surprised and actually quite glad that Blizzard actually released quite a bit of information on RoS. Things i'm still curious about and may/may not have been answered.
Whether there will still be 4 difficulties in the expansion.
Whether the Crusader is the only Class.
Whether there would be another expansion, indication of "first" diablo 3 expansion upon announcement.
What changes to the GAH/RMAH will there be?
PvP, will we finally have more PvP modes?
Is there more character slots? I heard something about 2 additional slots, but can anyone confirm?
Have there been any changes to the previous 4 acts, particularly Act 4?
Will there be a "disable" dialogue mode/disable all Cinematics.
Extended Affix pool for monsters?
More Ubers/Changes to the existing Uber Systems.
Is there still a 4 player per game limit?
Changes to the chat room and BNET.
This is probably only a fraction of the list, but If anyone has any ideas/solid information that'll be great.
Just from watching that gameplay vid, NV now works below lvl 60!(70 come xpac)
The crusader in that video is lvl 32 and after he kills that champ pack he gets 1stack NV then once he kills that Death Maiden he is at 2 stack NV. Just pointing it out.
We have a massive recap with loads of information, pictures, links, tweets and more. Click below to view.

Crusader looks like a solid class. Nice to see more melee.

I'm so pleased with how much they revealed today. Blizzcon should be pretty sweet too.
They are. Icons are one of the last things they implement before the release.
Might have already been commented on, but, the screenies of the legendaries are interesting. All of them are account bound.
Potential sources of Account bound:
