Jaetch's Archon Guide
The famed Wizard Jaetch has released what can perhaps be described as the most full and complete guide to Archon Wizards out there. In his one and a half hour of footage he goes through every little detail about becoming, not just an Archon, but a master of it.
In the video you can see a very detailed explanation on gearing, picking your skills, adjusting your playstyle, details about farming, many, many general and Wizard tips and much more. He has also created a topic for feedback, which you can visit by clicking this link.
New Affixes Among Future Content
A number of new monster affixes are among the future content the devs are talking about. So far we know there will be a lot of changes in the future along with a few pretty desired QoL ones like the addition of a comma for when posting on the AH or trading with another player.
It's likely that you would see additional affixes on items and monsters at some point in the future of Diablo III, but it's not likely that you'd see that kind of update on it's own. Special variations are a great way to add content to the game, and make specific monsters or items feel unique. It's also a lot of fun to think about what affixes you'd like to see added to monsters or items, and we're always interested in seeing those ideas.
What monster and/or item affixes would you like to see in Diablo III?
In Search of the Balance Between Gold and Real Money My Point: It is damn near imposable to gather enough gold to be able to afford atleast one item worth billion and up by playing the game. With 2 million kills I never found an item that was worth more then 200 million. I refuse to use real money but I do want to own atleast 1 item that is considered elite by getting it legit.
If you don't mind, I'd like to ask for a little clarification. Would you like for a very high end weapon to specifically drop, or would it be ok if you obtained one of these weapons through another method? (crafting as an example) Is it the item itself, or the financial wealth that is more appealing to you?
*edit* I'm interested in everyone's feedback on this subject, so feel free to chime in even if you're not the op.
I don't want to sidetrack the conversation to much, but one of the things I'm seeing repeated in this thread (and others) is that the stat range in gear has to wide of a gap. That's one of the specific itemization adjustments that developers have been spending time on, and would influence the item hunt in a positive way.
Finding it in the end means a lot more and is a lot more rewarding then buying it from the Auction house or trading for it. Either way its near imposable for a legit gamer such as my self who doesn't use real money to get one because I just am not able to generate such large amounts of gold.
This is certainly the heart of a concern that many long term Diablo III players share about the end game item hunt, and it's something our developers are working on. It's the sort of thing that should be tackled from multiple approaches like improved items, targeted drops, better crafting, and a healthy economy. Some of the finer points involved with these improvements are still being ironed out, so we'll share more information as soon as we're able to. In the meantime, keep an eye on the website, stay healthy, and remember to take a break if you need to. We'll be here when you return, chatting in great threads like this one, and working on making Diablo III as awesome as we can. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
The Future of the Paragon System
We are always interested in hearing ideas from the community, so this thread can potentially be a very interesting one to follow. Please keep posting your thoughts and ideas people :-)
Expanding on the Paragon system is definitely something we are looking into, although nothing have been set in stone yet. Some of the things the developers are exploring are to make Paragon levels account-wide, and then incorporate some sort of stat allocation system alongside existing level bonuses. Eventually we might even allow for an increased Paragon level cap, although that is not a certainty at this point.
The good thing to mention is that if any of these changes are to be implemented, they would apply retroactively to your existing characters as well.
DF: A thing that Travis mentioned once – adding efficiency to the Paragon system. Have there been any talks on what those additions can be?
Travis Day: Yeah, the Paragon system was spectacular for what it was trying to accomplish. Sometimes random can be a cruel mistress and the paragon system’s primary intent was to allow you to feel like you’re acquiring progression and even if you’re not getting too lucky with your item drops. We want to take that and expand upon it even more. We've definitely talked about things like taking Paragon and decoupling it from your character specifically and making it something that is more account-over working. So that any time you invest in the game is rewarded and you don’t feel like we’re taking anything away from you if you want to try new characters or try out different play styles within the game. That’s something we've looked into a lot.
Also, maybe potentially adding some sort of customization within the paragon system. Sort of in the vein of a throwback at a Diablo II start location. We've looked at things like that. We definitely have plans to flesh it our more in time. We don’t need to design it from the ground up. What it does, it does well, and we just need to make it more encompassing.
DF: You've also mentioned that you’re not looking into increasing the cap of Paragon. It’s going to be a hundred for at least a while, right?
Travis Day: For the foreseeable future. I think at some point you can expect the cap to go up. The cap isn't even really there to necessarily make an end point to the player. The intent was for paragon 100 to take a long time to get to. Which it does. But as we improve different aspects of the game (make changes to Monster Power, Monster Density, etc.) the time that it takes players to fill out that cap is shorter than we’d like. And once you do cap out, it definitely removes a very important reward for you – your XP stops going up. So that’s something that we want to address – at some point we’ll definitely look at that cap.
DF: About those customizations to the paragon system – what about the people who are already capped? Will they be receiving any kind of reward on patch day?
Travis Day: Yes, absolutely. If we’re making the sweeping changes to the Paragon, the people who invested time will certainly have the reward that is associated with that investment.
Without any new content, players like myself are finding it very hard to keep grinding paragon levels, I consider myself a "casual" player, I work, I have a family.
The Paragon system is not only thing that is being looked into by the devs, new content is being explored as well. That said, Diablo games have always been somewhat heavy grind/farm games and Diablo III is no exception to this.
PayPal Refund Requests will I get my money back from paypal? I feel scammed...just purchased some gold and now they lower the gold price an hour after I bought it. what is up with this.
Hi Mønster, I saw the thread and wanted to jump in and offer my thoughts. We are attentive to the concerns of the community and will be keeping a close watch on the gold market as we go along here. That being said, changes that are made in the game are not considered grounds for an AH refund - more information regarding Auction House restrictions can be found here.
Please also be aware that a chargeback on an account (as a result of a purchase through the AH) will result in the account being locked until full repayment of the outstanding charge - furthermore, the Auction House is permanently revoked from an account that has incurred such a chargeback, even if the charge is later paid.
If you do have any specific questions that our Customer Support representatives can assist with regarding the billing for your account, we encourage you to reach out to us through the Support Portal. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Cust Reps Can't Restore Sold Items
I'm sorry that the auction didn't go as planned. Unfortunately as of right now, we're unable to investigate in more detail until Diablo III is out of maintenance. I would ask that at your earliest convenience you submit a ticket through the support portal with the information about the auction (Auction ID#, name of item/link to pic, verification of seller account, etc.). Once we are out of maintenance we will be happy to take another look at this for you.
A few things here that I'd like to clarify: Firstly, although our support teams are happy to look into any issues that you have, we are generally unable to modify the auctions in any way. In specific cases have we been able to escalate issues if we do find any discrepancies in the auctions. In most cases though, these types of escalations are not necessary because the AH will respond appropriately (sometimes it can take a bit). Also, I see that there were several tickets entered in a short amount of time - we encourage you to be mindful of your requests - sending in multiple requests to get a different answer will not change the situation. We always do want to do our best for you - and will try to resolve any issues you have to the best of our ability.
I will make sure this is looked into once more, but again I will need to wait until we are out of maintenance. In the meantime, this thread will be locked. Please do create the support ticket with the information as requested and we will check back as soon as we can! Thank you (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

It's likely that you would see additional affixes on items and monsters at some point in the future of Diablo III, but it's not likely that you'd see that kind of update on it's own.
How many times have they said this now? They can announce the god damn expansion already, we know we won't get **** until then anyway. They're creating all this content to cash in new players, while the rest of us who actually play the game day in and day out are screwed over. Just look at the lower gold floor.
I won't buy the expansion until they at least somewhat fix the game first, loot 2.0 better come with the big 1.1 patch.
I understand the need for companies to make more money, and unlike a subscription based game I don't expect consistent large content patches, hell I'd be very happy to pay like $10-15 every 6 months or so for some meaningful DLC, or mini expansion that adds a bunch of new dungeons, access to more tabs, character slots, and DLC exclusive PvP modes/arenas, but as for the core of the game I would like to see the promised improvements to itemization first.
Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
