StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm Release Date Announced
The first expansion to StarCraft 2 finally got a date announced and with it come sweet things for the Diablo players who purchase it. Below it you can find the Diablo 3 bonus for buying the game - Bone Wings, which are exact copies of Kerrigan's wings. We actually dug those up a few weeks ago, but can finally see them in action. The ingame screenshot is by Xenocow.

Poll: Who's the Greatest "Great Evil"?
A new Poll on Battle.net questions players on who the greatest of the Great Evils is.

Together, they represent corruption in its purest form, serving as avatars for terror, anguish, pain, and even sin itself. They are cunning, deceptive, and above all...powerful.

But of the seven demon lords who preside (or have once presided) over the forces of the Burning Hells, which is your favorite? In your mind, who do you believe is the greatest of the Great Evils?

    Fowl Lair (Wheel of Misfortune)
Some players have been having a very hard time getting the Wheel of Misfortune achievement. Grimiku dropped by to insure them that nothing about the Wheel has changed during patches.

Just so you know, we did not change the chances for the Fowl Lair to appear in the Wheel of Misfortune. I have never found it either, but have only spent a fraction of the time searching for it that you have.

Man, I really want the collector's, but the mousepad feels a bit underwhelming after the beautiful custom metal USB from WoL. Guess I should reserve judgement until I have it but, ugh :/

I was thinking the same thing, I was like OH sexy mouse pad...but kept looking for the "collectible" item.

I have had the fowl lair at least 3 times but have had a hard time getting all the others...!!!
May the heroes rise from the pit of despair and the bards sing of the day of death renewed to everlasting
immortality....awaiting your return to the lands of Sanctuary may peace be with you on this day...your day of birth.

There seem to be a lot of problems with the ingame mail delivery of the Blade Wings to Diablo 3 owners who have purchased the SC2 HotS DDE yesterday. Some people recieve the wings only for their softcore chars but not for hardcore, others don't receive anything at all. Only the associated "feats of strength" achievements seem to work, and the delivery of the WoW pet (Baneling) if you own/play WoW.

How much does the Digital Deluxe version cost? I'm torn between that and the full CE.

Well, the Mists of Pandaria Digital Deluxe still seems to be up, so it would make sense for this one to be up "forever" as well. Collectors Editions are of course available until they go out of stock. So you can get it whenever you feel like it.

$60 for digital deluxe and not getting anything but wings for D3 and some SC2 ultralisk skin and baneling pet? No thanks. Not gonna get conned into $60 for an expansion.

Same old kind of CE rewards I see. Not that I'd buy it in any case so whatever. It's just that they said since HotS is an expansion and will be priced as such.

    ...

Q: Will Heart of the Swarm require ownership of Wings of Liberty?
A: For the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, yes, Wings of Liberty will be required in order to play Heart of the Swarm. For other regions that have alternative access models, we’ll provide details at a later date.

Q: How much will Heart of the Swarm cost?
A: We typically don’t provide details about pricing until the game is closer to release. We do view Heart of the Swarm as an expansion set, so for the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, we will price accordingly. For other regions that have alternative business models, we’ll provide details at a later date.

Direct quotes from the official FAQ. To be fair, the FAQ isn't updated because it also says that the release date isn't set, but the point is they view the game (product?) as an expansion set, yet it's priced at the level of a standalone game. Which requires WoL. For some. That's just weird...

I dunno. There was a time when I wouldn't care much. But now that I'm older the appeal of a product, no matter its production value, just evaporates when the company that makes it keeps saying things but acts differently.

But it's not priced like a standalone game? The expansion is 40€ when the full game was 60€.

Nvm, it's digital distribution being stupid. I paid 49€ for a physical copy on release and it turns out HotS will be about 34€. Still, they talked about maybe having coop campign and it was the #1 thing I was looking forward to. I'll pass.
