Console Version of Diablo 3: Offline Play, No RMAH, Not Exclusive to Sony, Hands On Console Gameplay

please don't write shit if you know nothing
the only dupes in the game were created by Blizzard because they rollback hacked accounts - that was a nice service for players
unfortunately some players are evil and abused this service of Blizzard

That would still be duped items. The fact that Blizzard has full control over when the dupes are made, is not exactly a redeeming point

No RMAH but a normal/gold one? Hello, dupes/hacked items I guess?

The pure scale on which items have been duped (radiant star gems dropping to 1/20th of what it costs to craft them, upwards of 8 of the same Manticores on the AH all at once, the same rare items getting posted one at a time every time the previous one is sold out) makes me believe that anyone who thinks the ONLY duping method is the rollbacks are people who view logic as their enemy.
There is another way, it is however kept a safely guarded secret probably only known by a handful or two of people. Know why they dont share it with average joes like you and I? Because it makes them thousands of dollars, litterally.
So no. I don't know what the exact method is, but if you apply the slightest amount of common sense you can see that the pure scale of it cant be only rollbacks.

    1. buy/craft many many radiant star gems
    2. log in your account with a vpn and transfer all the gems/items/gold to another account
    3. log in again with your normal ip, report to Blizzard your account was hacked and all your stuff is gone
    4. Blizzard looks at the login ips, see the unnormal ip and rollback your account
    5. now you doubled your radiant star gems without any cost

    easy wasn't it?

    Quote from XSEdef

And okay, I will humor you - say rollbacks is the ONLY way of duping. HOW THE HELL is Blizzard allowing this to go on? How have they not managed to secure their system better against that sort of scamming? It must be happening on an astounding scale for i.e. radiant star gems to drop to 1m gold. So when they rollback an account, how hard is it to check what is on it? If there is 500+ radiant stars on the account, I can pretty much assure you something's up.

Blizzard noticed the massive abuse of there rollback-service and since dezember 2012 items from rollbacked accounts are bound on account

Just to be clear, it sounds like they don't even have a secure online structure for consoles. Like any attempt at public game will just be a hackfest.

This is exactly the issue. People forget that PSN (the Playstation Network for online gaming) has been hacked several times alone in itself, so any sort of security on it isn't going to be reliable enough to have online accounts for D3.

So how come Blizzard doesn't just ban the account the goods were transfered to Sherlock? It doesn't take more intelligence than that of the average chimp to derive the fact that if account A was hacked and all goods transfered to account B, then surely account B must belong to someone involved with hacking others?

    *slow clap*
Too bad the economy was already fucked by then. Oh, and dupes still show up regularly on AH. So either items which have come to be through rollbacks are NOT bound on account, or there is a second way of duping. You choose.
Good gods. People's ability of logical thought these days would make Aristotle turn in his grave.

We're getting off-topic here though: My main point is the fact that Blizzard claimed the always-online DRM would provide a better experience for the players. This has not been the case, leaving the always-online requirement absolutely ridiculous.
The fact that there is no such DRM on the console just proves that they full well know that the game experience any worse with offline play.

Bad news, offline mode and no RMAH. Boring game for console noobs players.

There appears to be some new mechanic where some globes give you shrine buffs. There's nothing official or detailed about it yet so I haven't listed it as an official change. Info will come soon enough I gather.

I was not aware of this - thank you very much. Also, this means BeRse should check his facts before making statements like that (and I should have double checked).

    they did!
but most of the time when they'd ban account B - the account was already empty because all the stuff (the dupes) are sold to other poeple over the auction house

this rule is active on every realm (including europe)
dinamar is right that asia was the first realm with this rule become acitve, but the other realms followed shortly after
  • #34
To be honest I don't remember seeing an announcement that other realms have followed. Got any source?

I've never seen anything regarding NA and EU servers getting the BoA-hammer upon rollbacks other than the Asia servers.

Neither have I. I'm pretty sure it's just the Asian server.

Now just give us and a offline mode like sc2 B)

Console mode is super need on my PC. This looks like a better game than the game I have (well, except for the inventory). It should be a separate mode from Normal/Hardcore, that plays only offline and allows local (shared screen) coop.
