Hmmm I'm not sure if Radiant Gems will increase in price or crash because of the new tier of gems.
I'm predicting that a lot of people coming back will probably purchase a lot of them initially, thus there might be an increase in price due to the demand, but over time as more people get the new Marquis Gems then Radiant Gems will fall in price.
Also I don't see any mention of any other improvements to crafting such as brimstone use improvement or for a quality of life improvement to have more than 5 buffs being shown at once...
Guess gotta wait for the patch notes as well as the list of undocumented changes...
I think this stuff sounds great. Only weird thing to me is the new type of crafting is completely incompatible with the old one, yet the old one is still there. I'm guessing they decided to start by testing the waters with this, and if it's successful they could just completely remove the old recipes and flesh out the account-bound approach a bit more.
While I like the changes i don't agree that the account bound stuff is the right thing to do. I mean if the new craftable items are like hellfire rings i can see why they want them account bound, but if they still have no guaranteed stat rolls and roll like 99% of the rares there is no point to them being only usable to my account. I was hoping that they would increase the pickup radius based on paragon level, but i guess that went out of the door. Over all looks like a step in the right direction, I just hope they take a bigger look into loot in the future.

The whole reason they're doing this is to improve the chances of finding something you can use for yourself. If the gear wasn't account bound, it would all just go up for sale and we'd be right back where we started, picking all our gear on the AH again. A guaranteed 6 affix ilvl63 rare, with a good primary stat role and on the slot of your choice, is way better odds than finding something good through loot.
Man, I was really excited for a second assuming they were going to let us jump through WP's across acts like D2... now I realize they probably just mean if you kill Azmodon with 5 stacks you could farm act 4 with the same 5 stacks.... which I can't see anyone bothering with regardless.

It's still better than nothing, I guess.
All in all, an OK patch. Nothing too special, but still a small step in the right direction. I'll reserve my judgement until the full list of changes is out, though. This could turn out to be much better and impactful than it seems to be now.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

Does that mean that crafts are going to be the best "stat" gear? so anything you were just gathering random stats on will be BiS, i.e. gloves? Curious if perfect rolled craft boots can compete with ice climbers.
id like that... since im not that good at farming gold.. i cant buy ice climbers for 600 million..

You shouldn't have to mod a game simply because you made one mistake in point allocation. That was the biggest problem with D2 as well.
