    PvP in Diablo
Some information has been posted regarding the culture of PvP in Diablo, with a small reminder that PvP is still coming.

Because PvP is so extremely important to quite a few people, it is important to us that the PvP systems we will implement actually work well and are fun to play, and we did not feel this was the case for Team Deathmatch mode for the reasons explained in the blog.

In regards to Diablo II, that game was never really designed as a PvP game, but over time a PvP culture developed around the duelling system that resulted in a lot of people putting a lot of effort of that game into creating and gearing duelling characters. This should hopefully become possible in Diablo III as well come patch 1.0.7.

Again, it is important to emphasise that PvP in Diablo III hasn't been scrapped. While Team Deathmatch mode might not happen in the format that was shown at BlizzCon, something else will.

    Good Game, Bad Community
A user on the official forums created a topic stating that Diablo 3 is a good game, but thinks the community is dragging it down.

Here’s the thing: there are lots of people out there that enjoy Diablo III, and I’d wager that the majority of players posting here are doing so because they are passionate about the game and want to offer insight to make it even better. But there are also some players that simply like to stir the pot. My best suggestion for the latter is to down-vote their posts and take advantage of the “Ignore” feature if you feel they are being detrimental to the community -- and to use the “Report” function if they are outright breaching the forum’s Code of Conduct or Posting Guidelines. Using inappropriate language or harassing other players or employees is never okay, and we do our best to weed out such behavior from our forums.

As we’ve said many times before, we do appreciate feedback and constructive discussions, and we try our best to cultivate an environment where players feel comfortable discussing all things Diablo III. We realize the forums aren’t always going to be overflowing with rainbow unicorns and fluffy teddy bears, but that’s to be expected, and we truly do appreciate the continued passion of the Diablo III community.

Only idiots and egoists disregard good advice or feedback because their pride was hurt.
I wanted to jump in really quickly to say that this is the sort of exchange can lead to account actions. While players are welcome to disagree with each other, it is never acceptable on our forums to name-call or harass other players. It only hinders constructive conversation and makes those of us on this end ready our ban-hammers. Remember that discussing the game or one’s opinions of the game is okay, but attacking or belittling other players for their opinions isn’t.

    Gold Spam
Gold spam is still an issue for Diablo 3 but you can make the difference by just following the rules presented below.

    LOL, no.

Garbage in, garbage out. The community was diverse and enjoyable when the game first came out but shortly after everyone discovered what D3 ended up being, those with sense left and all you had left were rabid fanboys furious that people didn't think this was another great entry in the Diablo franchise.

I disagree and think that some people genuinely enjoy playing this game, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it. Well, at least I know I do, which is really the only person I can speak for anyway.

It is quite interesting that you post in the very site that includes your self in this "fanboy" tag you have placed over every one else that see some enjoy ment out d3. Sure is is not as amazing as the 10+ years of waiting and hype building up to it, but it dose have promise and it still is fun non the less. so while i register here and make my first post here just to call you out as a hypocrite, i now say your opinion has been nullified.

I'm a fan of the other Diablo games and thus follow the fansites because it's not impossible to fix a game. Right now the community is garbage because the game is garbage. Obviously posting on a fansite doesn't make you a fanboy because your voice has to be heard somehow. But I certainly stopped playing the game long ago.

If the franchise didn't have such a huge following prior to this game all the fansites for it wouldn't even be running and it would just die lonely in the bargain bins. The majority of the people who stopped playing WANT it to succeed (if for nothing else than to get their money's worth), but that doesn't mean they still play and thus all you have left are people with low standards. The logic is simple and it's easy to understand why the community in-game is so bad.

Something should ring a bell to you D3 white knights when the best selling PC game of all time (D3) makes nearly none of the high-profile gaming sites top games of 2012 list.

I love Diablo and would like to play it again, still reading news bcuz I feel that sometime the game can be pretty interesting again for me...

things that I do not like on this new game? Paragons, Nephalem valor, itemization (crits based game) ... I know, maybe this will never change, but who knows, I would like more of a d2 alike but it is just how every single one feels, every one has a opinion ...

well atm I am having fun with other games, it happens, since I have no fun at all playing diablo anymore, I agree that the community is not good at all, but every one had so much hope on this game and saying for me only, it was not what I was expecting ...

Yeah... go believe in yourself about D3 being a good game with a bad community, Stryker....
Meanwhile as Ubermey said D3 follow the path of every other disenfranchised game that failed bad, as they ignored the players, and blamed their customers on ruining their work: life goes on, and they are left alone. There is PLENTY, and really mean that, PLENTY of green pastures out there. Repeating that dry brown is the best will not bring the cattle to your wasteland. And calling them idiots for not believing that will only worsen it.

RIGHT NOW the only way I see to make Diablo 3 work is to finally release the offline mode, where everyone can cheat all the way they like, edit saves as much as they want, win paragon levels at the touch of a Button, ON THEIR OWN MACHINES, UNPLUGGED FROM B.NET AND THE AH.

People will only value and respect Battle.net after they tried the most powerful character they can have in their own home, separated from others. Then they will have a goal: to repeat that online, in a legitimate way.

    "Good Game, Bad Community"

From my point of view it is nonsence. People tried it good way (constructive feedback), tried it bad way (yelling and crying) and Blizzard never listened... So "good way" left the formus, because it was like throwing seeds on wall.

Blizz itself must first accept that D3 shining is gone and there is no long term for playing it. It is sad but true. It is not only because of the game itself is perfect for first 12 hours, fun for 120 hours and dead after 500 hours BUT also because of things like patch 1.0.3 whitch killed half (or more) of community. This must Blizz accept. They still may be proud they made game that is 100x longer than others now a days and should not cry that D3 is falling into an abbys of history.

    I agree with this too.
Offline mode won't happen unfortunately, it would have been fun playing a mod being better than the original game.

HAHA! Blame the comunity will you...

why did you release a half finish game, promise us PVP "soon" saying we wont ever change inferno "its suposed to be a godmode thats near impossible, to appeal to every layer of the player base"

and then blame the comunity for going sour on you, seriously, i must laugh.
i see that you first completely broke the inferno mode and are now trying to make it as before with the monster power, but it will never be as viable as it first was.

give us pvp as we so much want, and keep your promise that you wont break the pve game doing so, just release a patch allowing players to hit eachother god damnit!

i see myself as a hardcore Diablo fan, but havent played for the last 4 or so months due to pure suckness, Diablo 3 at the state its in now is this milleniums biggest disapointment!

People who enjoy playing D3 have absolutely no reason to post on the Battle.net forums. The largest reason people post there is to get the attention of Blizzard, typically because they have a bone to pick. The second largest reason is because they like to argue with the trolls.

I found a post in that same thread about the community that read "Average game, disappointed community."

*cough* *cough* Bioware *cough* doppelgänger *cough*

And we know where Bioware stands now. Morhaime will insist in letting Jay Wilson walk this path for how much longer? I mean, the immediate future of Diablo 3 is right in front of us, to anyone see. Why let it turn that way?

Just say "who want to lead the change of D3 into offline mode, raise their hand" and substitute Jay Wilson.

lololol @ good game with bad comunity. There may be loads of whiners, but blizzard fails to deliver on basic things like... what's advertised on the DVD package.

This is hilarious. So you want it unpluged do you? Yeah you and every other video game pirate out there. D3 isnt hard. It does not take forever to get great gear and paragon level 100 but ah...What am i saying? I am trying to convince a Hater, hypocrite & a cheater. Silly me.

I completely agree. I too follow fan sites and wait for things to be fixed. D2 wasn't good until later in its lifespan and they're actively patching D3.

What you say about not being on top 2012 lists is totally true. Although, I am curious as to why people always say "of all time" like it will never be crushed? It's not the best-selling PC game of all time, just the best-selling to date.

Game is the worst shit I ever played, that's coming from a huge diablo fan , I played diablo 1 and 2 lifelessly for years.

    ( http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Miha-2658/ - so you don't say I'm lying about time invested )

Worst invest of 1300+ hours I ever had. Paragon 100 ,also pointless , legendaries drop only if you play 300 runs in a row , and then out of 20 legendaries ,1 is MAYBE sellable. Ah / rmah are total failure shit for making money. Pvp will come in 5 years and will suck ,then they will redo it and put it back in 10 years. Lore is total crap, I never played a game with that meaningless and pointless lore ,diablo 1 and 2 had fucking epic great storyline ,NPCs, chars ,items ,etc, now we see some fucking cartoony loser chars with annoying voices ,wannebe amusing and fun , insanely bad itemization. Atmosphere and music in the game is also garbage ,diablo 1 still has better atmosphere and music.

Diablo 3 is the worst game you can buy if you want to play the game every day. Good graphics , outrageously bad story , most unrewarding game in the history of universe , it's only good for multiboxers and making money.

Community sucks too , but not more than developers who made this worthless piece of shit.
