Expansion Confirmed On Activision Blizzard Earnings Call Q3 2012
Activision Blizzard had their Q3 Earnings Call today and made a few announcements, some of which, of course, relating to Diablo 3. You can check the entire report over here and also look at some data concerning the company's financial situation here. Now for a quick summary:
Blizzard are working on the first Diablo 3 expansion, but no details have been shared
Diablo 3 has sold over 10 million copies in North America and Europe
World of Warcraft still has over 10 million active subscribers
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty has sold over 6 million copies to date
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is scheduled to be released sometime in 2013
Blizzard are also working on their DotA project, but have no news to share
3.8 Million DPS Monk
Forum member invis has managed to kill Azmodan in 36.5 second on his Monk. While there are certainly some faster kills out there this seems to be one of the fastest Monk kills. Invis has a Twitch channel that you can visit by clicking on this link where he shows his playstyle and answers lots of questions. You can also check out his thread on our forums located here.
We've had a report of this happening before, and it does seem that over time it should resolve itself, but in the meantime, can you try resetting or changing the password on your account, then see if that lets you post on the US forums?
Resetting/changing the password forces all your account related data to refresh, so hopefully that should help.
getting tired of the same head, shoulders, bracers, and pants on everyone...nice itemization blizzard
Not saying that it isn't a problem, but the whole "legendaries aren't the best items" philosophy that Blizzard initially took was to counter exactly this. But everyone knows how that turned out.
finish the goddamn original game before you start working on expansions or no one is going to be playing by the time it comes out a decade from now.
Fuck oath. 6 months after release and its still missing a major part of the game play (PvP anyone?).
Not to mention they're gonna need a ladder system with resets to get players back when pvp comes out.. its quite clear blizzard are looking at sales figures on paper to determine if a game is successful or not these days... real shame, quality slowly goin out the door for quantity
DROOD, calling it now. One of the new classes is going to be a druid type. Just sayin.
Also WTF is up with people complaining that they are working on an expansion?! I'll bet you complain when there's a sunrise too, because it's too bright, ffs.
Expansion? The game itself isn't finished yet.
Not gonna buy anything from this Jay Wilson team. Bring Blizzard North folks back to diablo to make it as it should be.
everybody who complains about the main game not finished should realize that Blizzard has multiple teams working on different aspects of the Diablo 3 franchise ....

That's a VERY poor comparison. Fact is, I actually agree (kinda) with the complaints. First off - there are several factors we don't know about. How many people are working on the expansion? It might just be 10 guys in the Blizz HQ basement coding away. It might be the arts and modelling crew who have nothing to do now the original game is out. We don't know.
When that has been said, it seems off that we get word on an expansion before we hear anything about 1.1/PvP Patch. However, we are in the dark about all this. My guess is the expansion is still 12-18 months away anyways.
Meh idk I like it. The sun = D3 exp pack, and it being too bright is people finding something to complain about.
All that's left for D3 atm is pvp and maybe a couple tweaks, so it makes perfect sense that they are already working on an expansion. ALAS, people must complain, becuase this is the internets.
...mmm...it's good to know they plan an expansion but there are some things which need to be fixed in the current iteration of the game.
I like this game and spend 99% of my gaming time on it, yet I'm fully aware there are problems, both in terms of game mechanics and performances (stutter, my archenemy! ).
Skillful singing by the choir, but the music bored me. It also didn't help having to crank all sound volumes to max to be able adequately make out the voices.

Anúna Perform Music From Diablo 3
Irish choir Anúna has gotten in touch with Diablo 3 composer Russell Brower and performed this incredible concert.

If you look around our forums I'm sure you'll notice some faster kills.
