I can't believe how shitty this launch has been. Race to finish? How about race to login. An embarrassment on Blizzard's part.

"I believe in the sand beneath my toes. The beach gives a feeling, an earthy feeling. I believe in the faith that grows, And the four right chords can make me cry. When I'm with you I feel like I could die, and that would be alright"
"June 15th"...so you're predicting Inferno Diablo killed in less than 1 month? Blizzard would need to have exaggerated Inferno difficulty if that is true, even considering that this is for "elite" players.
I'd totally apply if I had any frapsing/video editing knowledge.
So here's an idea for a machinima if anyone wants to steal it: Lonely Island- Throw it on the ground with a bunch of Barbarian knockdowns. It'd fit better as a WoW video though. Oh well.
Good luck to everyone. /jelly of whoever wins the alienware.

I'd give it at least 45 days.
If it will survive for a week or two that will be a win for Blizzard. We will see kill by the end of this week.
With random loot drops, and the guarantee of gear-check, I'd be surprised if it was possible from a numbers perspective. I'm not doubting the skills of everyone's youtube heros -- I simply doubt that the game itself was designed to be beatable until more items have dropped (gems, crafting recipes/high-end sets), which won't happen in a couple weeks unless the drop rates are way over-tuned.
You should put a BIG SPOILER ALERT at the top of this page and possibly mask the contest, I like many other very long time fans and Hardcore mode players chose not to follow the announcements of Blizzard and fansites because we enjoy playing the game through to find out the lore. Not everyone is interested in learning the story before they see it unfold.
I learned last night the story of a major lore character for the first time and was very surprised. Until I logged in and read the contest details I was not aware that this character was actually going to even be a boss (masking my own statements so others don't have their lore experience wrecked further).

Some one on youtube made it to inferno skele king kill people on youtube are "see the game is cake" some one posted that they actually wiped 8 times and someone else that the wizard in the goup frostnova, tele, and ran like hell to the boss to bypass everything because they kept getting killed by rare, elites, and champion packs. They were running a live feed when they did it before they posted the video so its possible the posters were watching the live feed when they made there comments in futile attempt to correct the misconception. This one of those little gimmicks blizzard said could happen to allow someone to move faster through the game to get a first kill.
Ah, the naivety of people. First off, for those who can't log in and wanted to play on the release day...this is your first dance isn't it? I remember quite well what SC2's release was like...and from what I hear, Wow's as well. Heck there was an open beta week and the whole thing ended in a shitstorm of lags, errors and disconnects. Expecting to get in within the first week for an uninterrupted gaming session is sheer madness. Consider yourself lucky if you managed get a few hours into the game.
Secondly, we've seen what the game is like on beta. The beta which by the way was just the first hour of the game was already containing bugs and crashes on release, there was so much tweaking done based on feedback that it's unbelievable they thought it would just be a server test. BTW the server test which, expectedly, had zero to no impact on release since the game was as we know unplayable on Tuesday. Trust me when I say that many, if not most, of the things you will see on your first playthrough will be changed majorly within the next year, or indeed within the next few months. There will be bugs and crashes, undeserved deaths because of imba monster skills that the dev team didn't think through etc. The first few months of this game will be just another beta pretty much, much of the stuff will have to be fixed and rebalanced anyway. Needless to say, I don't recommend anyone playing hardcore until they test the game isn't full of bullshit like Iron Maiden curses and bugged Scarabs and Gloams.
And finally...as for the contest. This is the part which actually makes me angry. You get the chance to play the game for the first time, after so many years of waiting. What do you do with your playthrough? Will you race to the finish line like an idiot trying to be the first to rush through the game paying little heed to what's happening, or will you savour every moment, every bit of dialogue and lore, explore every skill, every nook and cranny, kill every monster and examine every piece of loot you find? Yeah.
And BTW, why am I so disinterested and cynical about the whole release thing? Cause my copy hasn't even arrived yet, I'll be reinstalling my whole computer and updating some hardware before I install the game anyway and because I have two state exams to prepare for. So though I could go play as soon as my game arrives, I'll be patient and start playing the game when the most blatant bugs and issues have been solved, balance has been fixed, and the game is indeed worthy of the expectations. I waited so many years with all you guys, I can wait a few months more. Oh and by the way, I hope you're all behind me if they start talking about nerfing Inferno difficulty to the ground so that casual players can beat it easily. There'll be riots in the streets I tell you.

Seriously, why would you post that right at the top? I trusted you not to post spoilers without warning. ........
If you mean diablo, that was confirmed almost a year ago back in AUG by blizzard as the last boss...
