I noticed the follower items went up to 53 too, hopefully we're not reading too much into this, cause it sure would be nice if the hirelings didn't just fall on their butt as soon as you entered nightmare.
So is Hatred like it was before just with added generators for Hatred boosts or does Hatred need to be generated first like Fury and Spirit?
So, it's not what it was before. It's different
Methinks they'll reintroduce Diamonds and Sapphires in an expansion or major patch. I doubt they would have gone through all the trouble of making them and then scrap them entirely. I predict a similar approach to them that they have with the Talisman.
Great post, Winged! Very interesting. Great summaries!
Really not digging how the new uniques (legendaries) stats differ so little, now the value isn't neccisarily in the "perfect stats" part of it seeing that some of these uniques all have the same dps while some vary .1-.3 dps, thats like a "30% chance of Perfect item", but now the value is all in the Random Modifier.
Also it seems like there are so few legendaries that every one will be using basically the same items at 60 and know exactly what item it is before its unidentified.
Oh well it is still early and im sure they are adding tons more items
i dont like the scroll of reforging penalty...make it cost me gold but not turn the item into major tedium having to repair really often just because it took 5 re-rolls to get the stats I wanted...less fun should never be a payment for a better item (which is supposed to make the game more fun)...it's basically robbing peter to pay paul. Obviously I don't have to use it...but that doesn't make it a well designed scroll.

It's like it was before but instead of just running out of Hatred you have ways to generate it.
You should just dump some Hatred and balance it out with a few generators then dump some more, trying to never get close to empty (unless you have to dish out some super burst damage).
Yes, but the rate at which it regenerates is about half of what it was previously. By using a skill that generates Hatred you can get it back faster, though.
About a year ago we began to realize that the way we were making people depend on their resource for some classes just wasn't very fun, and so we began to roll out a new skill cost philosophy. Essentially the overall idea is that at any given time (within reason) you should have some option to use a skill and be able to do something, even if you're out of resource. What that means is we can't just have skills that depend on resources to use, but there needs to be a mix of skills that do cost resources, potentially resource generator skills, and some free-to-cast skills (maybe with a cooldown).
The witch doctor has had mana recovery skills since forever, the monk has almost always had spirit generators, so it was really just a matter of rolling that philosophy out to the other classes, and demon hunter was the most recent (and visible now that beta is live and we're exposing all that data).
Bonus! It makes demon hunter build diversity explode like woah.

And you wonder why the release was pushed to 2012.
I have my own reasons to drink, I think I'll call my Dad up and invite him.
I'm an adult now... (TPOH)

Looks like Blizz is about to take down the items page since so many people were pissed about it lol.
