UPDATE: It seems that the major changes is just going to be when certain skills are obtained and how much resource other skills cost to use.

We're not overhauling the class, just changing up what skills unlock at which levels and fixing some of their resource starvation issues. It's easy to change this kind of stuff. Spreadsheet stuff.
As posted in italiano on the official European community site, it looks like the Demon Hunter hasn't seen the end of the iteration process. Community correspondant Zhydaris writes:

After the hype surrounding some of the more controversial aspects of the Demon Hunter (see Much Ado About Colors and Diablocast XXIV), we can't say that we didn't see something coming. This also speaks highly of the testing process, a clear example of well-received feedback "radically changing" the current iteration of the game.
Thanks goes out to Loquenahak for spotting and posting this interesting bit of news here.
Its good to see some aspects of blizzard haven't changed. Fan-based feedback is always extremely important. I, for one, thought the resource system for the demon hunter was fine, but I'm glad that they decided to go with public opinion and not be stubborn about the design.

You're kidding, right? This has nothing to do with a few people complaining about resource colors. It was completely overblown by Sixen and this website.
They are talking about a complete wholesale change of the class. I'm guessing this has been in the works for awhile.
Even though i have spent hours devising DH builds... i'm a bit glad they're deciding to do this. DH definitely needs to be revamped. It's pretty depressing to hear all these streamers saying that DH is boring and their least favorite class, but I don't doubt them... when I watched some of the DH's rerun videos... I'd agree myself, that compared to other classes, the DH was... weak, boring, not as fun... and all those negative things. So.. GJ bliz. for recognizing that, and doing something about it.

'Changes to unlocking skills', what is that supposed to mean. Are they revising the way you acquire skills now, again?
'Use of resources', for all classes, I guess. Interesting.
'More', I'm thinking that F&F beta has opened their eyes a bit to warrant such radical changes. Guessing D3 won't be making its end of the year release then.
i love how people are seeing this as a sign of the game not coming out this year, first off no one thought any type of beta was going to start till end of september. and the FNF beta started real early and they've already fixed a ton of stuff. making each skill use a different amount of resource and changing the resource for one class will take a week, and obviously its already been under development so its most likely already finished they just have to implement it. so no this will not delay ANYTHING, there still on track for a nov-dec release. closed beta will start before sept is over, then open beta sometime in october. then finishing up november. woot!!!

No plans for an open beta at all though.
they will invite more and more waves of random people to join so its all good. still plenty of chances to get in before its release. also its only 1/3rd of the first act so getting in isn't a big deal at all. you'd get every character to max level in less then 6 hours. (13) either way its not getting delayed and is still coming out this year.
I for one am glad that they're "revamping" the dh. I, like many people, planned on making my first char a dh, but as i looked through the skills, i kinda felt that this class would be somewhat boring(especially the passives).
But anyways bravo blizz, now lets just hope you don't end up ruining this class even further.
I really wish they would make the resource cost for a lot of the spells for the demon hunter lower, but if it offsets he overall damage of the demon hunter's spells, then i wouldn't mind them making her spells do less damage. I would rather have a demon hunter who can use multiple spells and do moderate damage, than have a DH that does hella damage, but can only use a couple of spells. While i was watching a lvl 13 monk video, where he was just breezing through a dungeon, and he would constantly use his spells like the resources didn't matter, and he has a spell that lets him dash toward to hit a mob, it made the game very fast pace and exciting. They need to do something liek that with the demon hunter. Because all the demon hunter can do atm is... fire a couple of pretty non-exciting spells, and be out of resources. And the DH can only vault 3 times, then she has to walk around... how exciting does that sound? Not At ALL. Boo for walking/running, more spell traveling pleaseeee~ =] anyone have any thought about this?

however, if it does... it was not even close to bad enough to need a change.

So much for iteration within their own company....
I don't think a revamp of the resources & unlocking skills would take that long though.

Agreed. The DH didn't seem broken, but it was the least appealing class to me. I hope they come up with something better.
