I'm sure most of you are already aware, a lot of Diablo III Beta information has been leaked over the long weekend. As crazy as this may sound, no, the Friends & Family Beta has not started yet. Unfortunately, while Blizzard has stripped the actual data out of the client, it seems as if the Stringlist files (text) for everything past Act I still remain in the client. That in mind, it's very simple to datamine some information that spoils the story progression, for example, the secret level and the end of the game. When I first stumbled upon this information myself a week or two ago, I knew it was bound to come out sometime, I just assumed that we'd have a little bit more time before it did actually come out. Regardless, being in the official fansite program, I would prefer not to leak information that isn't already out on the net (yes, there is still information that has yet to be found), however it is our job on DiabloFans to keep the player base informed of all the happenings with the game. Here are some recent topics about the leaks:
And there are a ton more threads within our forums. All I ask is that you please be courteous when talking about lore and what not, use spoilers and spoiler warnings to forewarn people. As far as our news goes, as I stated previously, we will be keeping you informed of the current buzz within the community.
I respect that you mention these leaks considering how tight Bizzard PR is with their "soft fansites" like this one.
To my mortal eyes, there were soem things that were leaked which are perfectly fine, and some that I will never read.
Things that I think should have been officially announced/recognized or are good to know:
-General information, like the runestone effects and item affixes. These are spoilers because you're bound to google them anyway when deciding endgame builds.
- Release date hints
- Screenshots
- Music
Things that I won't read too much or at all:
- Storyline
- Endgame encounters
Good show though boys, this game should be spectacular!

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.

Lots and lots of info here. I'm with Peace though, won't read anything related to boss encounters, quests or anything regarding the story. Everything else, sure thing :)!

Are you sure of that or is it just a guess, becouse the deleted topic from Blizzard beta page that was posted from Baalrok sure looked like the Beta F&F has started.
Oh woah. I know it's not what one is supposed to do. But I actually just registered to say that it's pretty damn shitty of´Sixen to actually spoil information in his text, not giving a shit if we actually want to read any of them.
Providing links to something is one thing and totally fine, outright spoiling stuff within the text (as Runner55 already mentioned) is another thing. Just so stupid.
I'm sorry that you weren't aware that the story would be ending at some point and there would be a secret level. I thought that the story would come to an end was obvious. And easter eggs are also a given.
Thanks for sharing anyway! You always do a great job on the news! =)
I will not read the leaks, tho... Don't want to ruin the game!
I've waited 10 years for this game, and i want it to be as fantastic as it was the d2 experience. A total and fantastic surprise! =D

Heard enough speculation about what is to come, enough to wet my appetite, but thats it... cant wait for the beta! (optimistic that i will actually get in it.. )

Does anybody really know what time it is?

I'm sure.
Well, given this piece of information then we know that this is Blizzard testing the downloader before it opens the beta. There's not many phases that I could imagine after this one before the beta (F&F) goes out, maybe they will still test the addition of some patches to test the loader updates and that's it.
You'd think they would use the RMAH mentality of "they're going to do it anyway, might as well give it to them officially" for this type of stuff, especially Runestone effects and affixes. But alas!, they were too slow with official announcements and too loose in containing leaks. Thus, uber fail.

That's awful sweet of you to post my little leak. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "storyline leak," being as it's kind of my personal extrapolation to an extent, but I guess it's not *too* much of a leap of faith, and it's nice all the same. One thing's for sure, it's going to be an interesting ride.

Hard to believe they would tell you guys when they claim they don't even have a beta date yet.
