Blizzard's Video Contest Results

  • #1
As part of Blizzard's 20th anniversary, Blizzard held a contest for players of all franchises and all games to create videos of their favorite memories of Blizzard. Out of all of the submissions, eight were chosen for users to vote for the top winners. While many were about the ever popular World of Warcraft there were a few that offered different memories of Blizzard's other games. More interestingly for DiabloFans, there was a Diablo submission in the top eight. Michael Cawcutt, kal3i, gave us a trip down memory lane playing Diablo when he was younger. You can still watch his video here.

After weeks of voting, the winners were finally chosen.

    Official Blizzard Quote:

We recently invited players to send in videos of their fondest Blizzard memories. You all voted on them, and now we have our winners. Second place is Michael Cawcutt from Minneapolis, MN.
Winner of a slew of different prizes, I just wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate kal3i and thank him for helping us get a DiabloFan and a Diablo fan representative as winner of one of Blizzard's contest.

If you would like to see the rest of the results of the Video Memory Contest or any other information on Blizzard's 20th anniversary, you can check here.

I really connected with Michael's video. The winner, and I'm seriously cereal, was a lame WC2 inspired piece of junk with bad machinima editing, not worthy!

I connected with him too. I had almost identical memories form playing Diablo as a kid.

Unfortunately he didn't make the first place, someone else did. But he was Top 8 and i am happy, he did represent all of us DiabloFans with his memory. And it would have been sad, if there were no Diablo video in the Top 8 at all. I connected with him too and i think many more DiabloFans do.

Hum.. Jumped the gun on that one. Third isn't bad, maybe if the glare off his hair gel wasn't so bad :P I keeed, I keeed. His story reminds me of good times with my friend Pat where he'd carry his PC, crt monitor, and all accessories a 1/2 mile down our street to my house so we could have an O.N.H (Over Night Hangout) and play Diablo online in the same room. We also had my PS1, and Xbox 360 running on 2 crappy tvs so we could play CoD4, or w/e crazy games I had for PS1. Good times~

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the XBOX 360 doesnt really fit into that picture of old times with good old Diablo and the PS1 and crappy tvs, does it? :D

At the time it did :P this was during 2007, when I introduced him to Diablo. Thus why he was the one bringing his PC over, not vise versa lol. The 360 fit in rather well with the 15 or so inch tv we played it on at the time. I do remember before that we had a few O.N.Hs where it was him on his gamecube, and me on the PC. An even before that there were times he'd watch movies on the tv behind me, and I'd be playing Diablo with a mirror set up on my desk so I could watch the movie as well lol. My fondest memories are the ones I first listed though. He never wanted to play though..

Ah the memories of Diablo 2 on New Year with my friend alone in a dark house with 2 cats. The cats scared the shit out of us a few times back then :D.
