Well most of those job openings are probably for the console version they are working on, and some of them are for stuff we know is probably done. For example, I think all the quests are done but theres a job opening for a quest designer.
I don't really wanna play the beta, although I'd probably do it if I was selected. But the way I see it is if you play the beta all is good and fine and when they close the beta you'll be without D3 for some months until the final release. I'd rather wait and play a finished game the first time.
Well I'll be sure to collect aaaaallllllll the information for you when the beta comes out
J'étais dans une programme français immersion. Donc de l'école primaire jusqu'au collège, un demi de la journée était enseigné en français, l'autre en englais. C'était une bénédiction, une éducation assez rare.
Translation: I was in a french immersion program. So from first grade until college, half the day was taught in french, half in english. It was a blessing to be educated this way, and a very rare education, especially in America.
Anyway, to put in an on-topic bit, I think it's a danger to start cooking up possible release dates, beta timeframes, etc.. although it's fun, it can lead to more disappointment and nerdrage.
Bliz uses an iterative, modular development model (based on Agile development methods, google it if interested). Just because they finished their iterations of feature content addition, doesn't mean rewrites aren't in the winds. Also, it doesn't mean all features are integrated into full working builds right now, they may be running stub API's.
They'll run through Alpha and find weaknesses. When they do, they'll enter more sprint development iterations to revamp/rewrite feature sets to improve the play quality.
Sooooo.. technically development is complete, but development is not really complete, and depending on how many more dev sprints they run due to Alpha/FF Beta feedback, the release date, and beta timeframe, will necessarily be pushed out.

Your's was one of many translations and happened to be the first one copy-pasted into a draft of the article. Sorry. I also edited it from "finished" to "completed" based on maka's translation, but I figured that people using their knowledge to be one of many people translating something didn't require acknowledgement considering how many translations there were after the article came out.
Sets can easily be implemented at some point during the beta, especially if its going to run 6 months. I don't think it'll start in May, but probably sometime this summer if they're talking about it in the May conference call.
I think the sets will not take too long to be made and are likely done or at least thought out what items they are. Balancing of the set items and on how to get the full set is the issue.

Didn't blizzard say they were going to release the game some six months after the beta?
