A medieval tenant giving military service as a mounted man-at-arms to a feudal landholder.
(Abbr. Knt. or Kt.) A medieval gentleman-soldier, usually high-born, raised by a sovereign to privileged military status after training as a page and squire.
(Abbr. K.) A man holding a nonhereditary title conferred by a sovereign in recognition of personal merit or service to the country.
(Abbr. Knt. or Kt.) A man belonging to an order or brotherhood.
A defender, champion, or zealous upholder of a cause or principle.
The devoted champion of a lady
If you put it in any way, it's a man. Women didn't go to war in medieval times and in the Roman era it was the same. Women going to war is a new concept that's just begining to submerge in our current culture. They were looked upon with little interest (there are some exceptions here, such as egyptians).
Monk definition:
A monk (Greek: μοναχός, monachos) is a person who practices religious asceticism, living either alone or with any number of like-minded people, whilst always maintaining some degree of physical separation from those not sharing the same purpose. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy.
There you go, a monk is usually refered as a Man but a women can also fit the criteria if she follows the same principles and lifestyle.
A lot of dictionary says "a man" but serveral of the modern one says "person" (for knight). But I haven't seen much, if any says "a person" for monk.
Do you even know what you just said? Muscle is directly related to your speed so i don't see what the point of your post was. I don't mean she needs to look like the HULK or anything but at least be very very toned.
Hello. Long-time lurker here. Just felt I had something to contribute to this female Monk discussion:
Robyn
Robin Miriam Carlsson, better known by her stage name Robyn (born 12 June 1979) is a Grammy Award-nominated Swedish pop singer-songwriter. Robyn was known in the late nineties for her dance-pop hits "Show Me Love" and "Do You Know (What It Takes)". Robyn entered Melodifestivalen 1997 as songwriter with the entry "Du gör mig hel igen". She has since started to gain mainstream success worldwide owing to the popularity of her No 1 hit single "With Every Heartbeat" and subsequent album release. In January, 2009 Robyn won a Swedish Grammy award for Best Live Act 2008.
I think it's great that the art direction in Diablo 3 is drawing from so many references outside traditional fantasy archetypes in terms of character design, even drawing inspiration from contemporary pop culture. Some might not like this risk-taking (or pandering, depending on your perception), but I personally think its worth commending the fact that such an established, classic and beloved gaming franchise is still putting its neck out of its safety zone to take artistic risks, even though it doesn't necessarily have to.
I'm going to guess she's not the only person on earth with that haircut. Could be wrong Not bad looking, though.
Of course not (examples 1, 2, 3 & 4), and in no way was I accusing Blizzard of plagiarism or anything of that sort.
But I guess my (poorly put across) point is that I think it's great how an established game/brand like Diablo is drawing from references outside of fantasy archetypes/the fantasy genre and taking artistic risks although it doesn't have to, i.e. Diablo III would still sell a jillion copies if Blizzard decided to play safe on a creative level. Instead, it chose to take a gamble, which I personally think is really playing off especially with the new female Monk whom I'm really fond of.
Blizzard has always said that when they create their characters, they don't try to please everyone. Before they released the wizard, Jay had said that some people would hate the next class. I like that they are willing to admit that each character very different and that they are not playing it safe and trying to please everyone.
