We recently reported the rumors that Blizzard was in talks with Microsoft in regards to developing games for their next generation Xbox console. The story originated with GamesIndustry.biz, but GameSpot spoke with Blizzard reps who quickly shot down the rumor:
When contacted by GameSpot, Blizzard reps shot down the GI.biz story outright, saying the outlet had not even followed up with any inquiries attempting to clarify Pardo's remarks.
"In the Lunch with Luminaries discussion, Rob said that Microsoft occasionally bounces ideas off of us, with no specific reference to any possible future consoles," said the rep. "This should come as no surprise, as our games run on Microsoft's PC operating system. We aren't in discussions with Microsoft regarding any future consoles." (Emphasis added.)
As the GameSpot story says, just because Blizzard reps shot the story down, it doesn't mean their games wouldn't be viable on a future console. Just don't expect anything like that to be available to the public as quickly as the PC game releases.
It is? I never heard of it before. It's at least good to get it as an actual announcement- more people will know about it that way. XBox doesn't deserve Diablo on it, in any case. Nor any console
it means. the games will rock for 260/ps3.. but suck nutz for pc. any non exlusive isnt worth buying. thats y CoD4 was crap. felt like a rail shooter cuz it was made for joysticks.
Doesn't matter if it's really old or not. Our civic duty on this forum is to brag about how long we've known the news story the mod posts, flame him for being slow and digging up old material that we personally addressed in some ancient thread (that we won't link to), and show a general disregard for any news that isn't a launch date.

don't get me wrong i love consoles an grew up playing them, however, i wouldnt really ever want to see diablo on a console. diablo just wont feel the same when using a joystick controller and imo it will be very hard to pvp using one. pvm may be fine but to me its all about pvp and it wont be as fast and reactive. unless of course you use a mouse and keyboard on your console and play but then whats the point of doing that, you'll then need a desk and chair to play comfortably for long durations and if thats the case i may aswell just be playing on my pc then

You do know they are making diablo 3 for the PC first right?
Once again my question stands, how will releasing a game multiplatform effect its gameplay?
If Blizzard moved to consoles, it'd be a bitch move for everyone who has played faithfully since 1994 or 1997 or whenever on the PC.
Consoles are mass marketed crap now adays. The Wii is chocked full of shit kid games, the PS3 has nothing but some good graphics no one can program with, and the 360 has a bunch of stupid arcade games and two good FPS' an a RTS I would have instantly bought if it came out for the PC, but it didnt.
Anyone who wants to sit down, strategically game, spend hours on end playing, and enjoying, would most likely have an easier time doing it with a hack n' slash and RTS on a PC rather than Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo's shitty money grabbing systems that promise greatness and deliver nothing but sub-parity. I'm sorry. Bioshock was a good game. Keep it on the 360. Diablo is a great game. Keep it on the PC. Ports make things worse, and make things take much longer.
HOWEVER...
If a game is being developed -specifically- AKA, Starcraft Ghost, FOR consoles, and has been designed ground up for specific consoles and is fine tuned, programmed, and expertly crafted for -CONSOLES-... That's different. However, don't dilute my PC games with mass marketed console bullshit.
EDIT: I don't know if Blizzard's ports may be... higher quality now? But if anyones played the original Diablo on the PS1, or Starcraft for the Nintendo 64, you may realize why the fuck I hate console ports so much. Both of those ports were aboslutely worthless and ruined the games in just about every way. They also didnt fit... AT all.

(thanks PlasticComplex)
I'm glad this was cleared up tho.
Why.........?
Tell that the Bioware. kthx.
CyberPunk RP Nexus
Have people made Bioware aware that games on both the PC and Consoles are supposed to suck?
I think they missed that memo.

oth: Does it irritate u guys that awesome games get released on consoles and us pc guys have to wait like almost a year to get em?
Lets let the consoles wait in patience before blizz graces them.

your logic makes absolutely no sense.
It might if put onto the Wii.
Fable: TLC was put in XBOX and PC and it's gameplay was the same.
