GameReactor has a new interview from GC2008 with Diablo III's lead designer, Jay Wilson. The interview takes place in a 9 minute video.
Parts of the video include discussion over Blizzard's core development strategy, and how they want the game to feel. This includes the potion system that incorporates with the orbs, and how these things make Diablo III a more challenging experience.
The video also covers co-op functionality, challenging PVP, individual loot and as expected, they even go into the topic of the game's art direction. Jay states that Blizzard actually expected a more negative reaction, because strugled through the same feelings the players have, but now they are so used to it they will definately not change it.

please use proper english at the start it was good last few sentances i was like wtf...
Thanks, again nothing new.. but wtf ?
lol "it has been hinted"... this is bullshit.. no way there will be a real actual DEMO in blizzcon, demo that will be playable over there.
why is it so implausible for you guys to think there won't be a playable demo at blizzcon? Is it because of the slow release of info? because, if so, then don't you think blizzcon will be the best time for a demo?
No Dude, It's too early for a demo imo, Of course I want it too so bad, but I'm sure it isn't, they can't produce a Demo in such short time, they didn't even announced all the classes yet for damn sake.. dude, no way.
There may me playable "something". How is it called then in english? I thought that Demo...
But if they have playable "sth", it doesn't mean that this will be same same demo WE will get someday. For sure not the same. It will not be oryginal one, but some alpha demo. Why can't it be? Surely can.
cheerio
Man.. you need to work on your english
Anyway, there might be a "playable" something like you said, but not for the audience and that's for sure!, but only for Jay Willson or any other guy that will talk and show some new info on the game, just like they did in WWI, same thing...
I'm glad they are trying to seperate actual co-op from the people that just want to destroy everyone. with that news i actually might play online with D3

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.
Awww... no more stealing loot? No more PK'ing? Diablo 3 is offically a goody-goody game... because ruining for others is a no-no. Well, no biggy, actually I knew this would happen.
Dang, Jay started gettin' grungy looking by this point in the day. I guess around here is where he changed shirts and cleaned up.
Why do I notice this, you ask? Well, you know how when you see a fat person's crack when s/he's sitting down and, even though it's really disgusting, your eyes keep wandering back? Same thing with hygiene for me.
Great Interview! However i did get an uneasy feeling when he said spoke about only getting challenged in HC mode was a maybe "taking it a bit far".. Does this mean that they will remove HC? I hope to the mighty god of geekary not! It also sounded as though PVP would be taken completely away from PVE games... - no more PK'ing? Guess nothing is for sure until the game releases!
You misunderstood. Allow me to clarify.
He said that the only way to get the player challenged in single-player was the Hardcore mode, and that is pushing it a bit. It is a broken concept. The point being, players should be challenged in soft core just as well, and that is what they are focusing on at this point. He also said that it doesn't mean that they are taking out the HC, but you must have overheard that.
EDIT: Actually, just watched it for the third time. He said that to challenge the player you had to kill them, and HC mode made that interesting, and if you had to go that far to make a game interesting then something is wrong. He follows with a sentence saying that it doesn't mean they won't have HC, and that in fact, they probably will.

Can't wait until Blizzcon!
They probably are, I mean if you ask something he won't answer you're just wasting your time and his time.
Hey Kwic, I've noticed you say this alot- what does it mean? Sorry if this is off topic.
(Strains his brain with thoughts on how to make this post on topic.)
Great interview!
It's text-speak for "something."
