Bashiok: Aw, of course we care! A large part of my job is specifically to ensure that the valid concerns, comments, and critiques are brought to the appropriate people's attention. That doesn't mean that every idea or suggestion is something we agree with, or are going to base changes on though. There's a point where, as a game designer, you have to stick to your guns and know that your choices and direction are what's best for the game and ultimately those that will be playing it. There's a point where you have to be confident that you're making the right decisions. So at the end of the day you're staying true to your vision and design, and doing what's best for the game.
The top sentence ive highlited, sorry but to stick to your guns?, look what happened to HGL they tryed to stick to their guns with forced instances and crapy trading and look what happened to them, its the same with most other games, if you stick to your guns on shit that YOU yourselves want in the game, doesnt mean the 6million + people who buy your games want what you want cause atm we DONT.
HG:L makes for a bad example here. You're pointing out examples of poor implementation of concept and design decisions, and then faulting the directional choices, rather than the shoddy mechanics or implementation.
As per Bashiok's quote, Blizzard often sticks to their vision and design over other changes; not in lieu of better options because of effort or hours, but rather because of the direction they want to take the game.
Oh, in comparison to you, Bashiok has proven himself kinder, more sane and coherent, and he works for my personal favorite video company. Ergo, I like him more than you.
I wish people would just let Blizzard do their job, which is release AAA titles that come with massive critical acclaim and millions of fans. I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing better than anyone.
I was interested by the post about Blizzard taking some of the suggestions fans have made and implementing them into Diablo III, and that it was nice to see that some of its glory was due credit to the fans.
Is that what all this has been? Stroking egos? Feeling important?
Problem with fans making a company push over for everything they want: Fans don't understand how their concepts turn into reality, the designers do. They know what ideas will work well, and fans don't understand that the excellent idea they had when put into action will be a piece of shit.
Thank GOD Blizzard sticks to their guns.
I can't wait to see all the 50,000 shots to the face of pwn.

Not every suggestion, but if there is a great suggestion that a lot of people agree on it, I think they should put it in the game, or at least think and make a discussion about it.
Nice to see some replies, and a confirmation that they do take our opinions into account.
As for death to bunnies (critters) ... I am very big into animal rights/conservation/etc... and I think being able to kill critters in a game is really fun. It is a VIDEO GAME. If you take influences from a MATURE (17+) game and reflect that onto your real life, you have major issues already. None of which are the cause of playing any video game.
He didn't actually pre-order the game. He pretended to pre-order it because he felt like it would be some kind of contribution to the thread. All kiddies lie on the internet.

Can you be any more immature. You make the WoW community look like a summit of intellectuals in comparison.
You know, just because you didn't have the money to pay for the subscription and switched to D2 instead because it was free doesn't mean that you are a 'fan' in the true sense of the word. And you are one of those, I can tell it from here.

Would you like to post your receipt of the pre-order? You're welcome to mspaint and cross out any personal information. That's what I thought. What I said was correct, you didn't preorder the game. You're just another e-kid with an obsession to lie frequently.
You didn't preorder a game a year or more in advance. That'd be just stupid. And if you want to defend something stupid, go for it. What is this nonsense about WoW you keep spewing. That's a completely irrelevant flame. I'm calling you out on a lie. You're lying. Get it? Got it? Good.
A bit of a flamer aren't you. You could have argued about the pre-order, instead you chose to flame me with empty irrelevant insults. That sort of concludes this little conversation. Anytime you'd like to make a confession about your pathological behavior, I'll be waiting.
Did you just ask me to give you some jerk-off material? Tsk, tsk. I would have to be even more pathetic than YOU to actually comply to your request.

I agree.
Oh I mean about you. Not him,
there are no preorders available, the damn game is BEING DEVELOPED. We wont see D3 for another 2 years more than likely.
You got called out on a lie, you fail, get over it.

Actually there are pre-order sites that are known to be quite trustworthy. People will pre-order the game, it's believable. Even though the game is in development, what the company usually does is push the release date back. However whether he is lying or not, is something we can only assume.
is it me or did this thread turn completely off-topic.
is it really important if there are preorders availiable or not? NO.
whats important is that Blizzard keeps working on the project and (whats actually quite new to me) takes some of the arguements into consideration (as mentioned before, since the devs know how to turn each thing to reality they talk about it first, try it and then decide if its good enough for the game).
I trust them to do the good job they have so far and hopefully to see the game before 2010.
For all the talk that's going on about there being a T rated Diablo 3. Well I believe it's true. Germany censors their games, recent examples would be Unreal Tournament 3 and Hellgate:London which both were released in Germany before the USA due to them being a special modified low count shipment. The gore in Diablo 3 will be taken out in the German versions. Then again the rules might only apply to games that use peer to peer combat that involve guns or gore, anything that involves violence and gore in peer to peer combat, Diablo 3 will have PvP so that would cause them to censor the gore out giving it a T rating.
Are you serious? The whole game is about slaughtering millions upon millions of demons, undead, and monsters in the most horrific and graphic way possible.
If you have a problem with killing one little bunny rabbit, maybe you shouldn't buy the Mature Rated game.
Perhaps this game will suit your needs better.
I don't think there will be any bunny killing in that. Then again, the pony could step on the bunnies and crush their spinal columns with red blood and gore spraying all over the pink mane of the pony. Now that would be a pretty sight.
OT: It is good to see that Blizzard is actually reading what we write, and taking little bits of advice from us.
OMG!!! ROFL!! I cant stop laughing... my sides... if that wasnt so long Id sig it.
Anyways Im glad Blizzard is looking so ummmm, how about throwing that PK/PVP in there Blizz :), weve seen numerous threads on that already so Im hoping they leave PK in there because there are far more people who want it in than dont.

Surely you jest! Everyone knows that it's video games that kill people, not people's actions.
For shame! You should know better. Just ask everyone's favorite lawyer, Jack Thompson.
If they make a dark gray stain out of my favorite series, as some people would seem to like, I will make somebody eat those CDs when they arive.
