another exp NO I won't stand for it
Diablo isn't the freaking sims
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I'll be so angry if they do that
but i'll still buy it lol
Yeah, that would seem strangely out of character for Blizzard to release an official expansion for a game that is already several years old. I wouldn't worry about that.
I'm gonna say they will announce plans to and a trailer for diablo 3. However the game is still in the early stages and won't be ready for at least Q4 2008 or Q1 2009.
This hasn't been brought up for a while so I'll bring it up again. Battlenet is being revamped extensively for Starcraft 2. Why would they update Battlenet so extensively if Diablo was going to move to an MMO style? I think Diablo 3 is going to come out and will be based on Battlenet again and not an MMO.
I am betting the new franchise is going to be the revolutionary MMO, and Diablo 3 will be announced before then.
i dont think they'll just change the concept of Battle.net so easily. They stick to tradition (see the StarCraft II gameplay) and i think they will keep battle.net free. I also think that whatever happens with the StarCraft II multiplayer will be the same with the Diablo 3 multiplayer. If there are monthly charges planned for that (i dont think so but who knows?) we'll prolly get the same thing too.
Which tradition? Blizzard has said in interviews that Battle.net will receive a complete overhaul. Remember that it was originally designed in the mid 90's for an Internet where everyone was on 56k modems or worse. With the bandwidth and technology available now, there is loads of room for improvement.
And I'm convinced it will remain free - anything else would kill it.
It is true technology has improved and internet speeds have gone through the roof, but not everyone can get a super fast connection, why do u think WoW is playable on 56k? (besides Alterac Valley 40 vs 40 isn't very nice for 56k)
You won't notice any difference when your playing on battle.net, they are just adding in features in which they can use with the game, they aren't currently being used now except for the new starcraft league.
I hope that they will also step out of the closet and make it playable in linux TOO!
So make it as stable linux binary or atleast opengl based. I am sick and tired of these directx based "make the money and out games" like nwn2 appeared to be.
Of course if its going to be Diablo 3
They used to be glide favor with the diablo2. They should thats why look forward and make a full linux binary client and not to fall that dump shit of *you know who*-soft
Goddamnit! Do you read what you write?! I cannot friggin' understand anything you just said!! Maybe it's because I am tired.

Yes. I do read what i write. Maybe its about the outline or maybe it gets too technical for you ;D or then you are just tired. Dont mind hope that everyone can get the idea from there anyway.
I was thinking along the lines of, maybe put in a few periods or commas. It gets pretty confusing sometimes, and nobody likes to read what they just read because they didn't understand it the first time. And I kind of got the first 2 paragraphs, but then it started to not make sense. And computers aren't the most technical things for me. I understood the gist of your point, making Diablo III supportive of Linux, which seems unlikely because of how many developers are leary of releasing Linux ports of their games. The only developer I know that did this was, id Software with Quake III and Quake IV. So why don't you go buy a Mac or Windows PC.

being revamped it doesnt mean that it actually changes its basic functionality. Battle.net was created to be a free online host for the current Blizzard games (at the time). Thats what i expect from Battle.net v2.0 too. I cant be sure if its gonna be like that, i just expect it that way.
if blizzcon do have a diablo title announced , it will be a celebration of all 3 game universes (sc2 for sc fans and wow exp2 for wc fans)
if not, i cant imagine what diablo fans can celebrate for ..
The only reason it wouldn't be D3 is that blizz north left blizzard. Of course, a few of them stayed but most went off to make Hellgate: London. When I say LoD is D 2.5 I just mean that 2.5 would be nothing but a big exp (and yes I would buy it). When I say the whole thing may or may not be real I mean it at any end of the stick, you know blizz hasn't officially announced a movie yet, for al lwe know 40 people are working on getting that train moving. But back to speculation!
They can easily add advanced functionality without changing the basic concept.
That they will. They wont just use stronger servers for it. Its gonna be (at least for StarCraft II) the ultimate matchmaking service. They'll most likely expand it and make it safer against hackers. As of Diablo, i dont know how its gonna be, or how the multiplayer will work so its bit too much to assume things about how its gonna be on battle.net.
about the game... it reminds me of something but i cant remember what exactly.
i'm pretty sure it doesnt have anything to do with these engines. Its a completely different action-rpg title whos name i cant remember at all. Got to check my magazine files all over again, bugger
Its pretty fun how people copy the Diablo/Diablo 2 ui and slightly change it just to make it remind you of Diablo (and possibly buy the game too :P)

Blizzard has 3 Titles... what titels have you heard about officialy in the past year? What titles have you not?
The "team 3" doesn't give any pointers away lol.
They removed the article about Diablo 3 for a reason from PC mag.
There has been a statement that " Diablo and Starcfat franchises are still alive and have a future."
Blizzcon banner has images related to the "3 titles".
Honestly.. a child could figure it out, Its like getting 3 shapes and putting them into the holes like a baby toy.
=) I can't wait now..
