If U click the link ull see that this was posted before the WoW expac came out so it is about a year old... they already were 100% posotive that Diablo 3 whould be unveiled at the next blizzcon which happens to be about 4days away!!!!
"Diablo 3
Blizzard will also use the BlizzCon event to introduce Diablo 3 to gamers and if the excitement of Blizzard employees is anything to go by, the game will be a big deal. According to a message sent to WoW Guru by former Blizzard employee Chris Hartgraves, Diablo 3 takes place in heaven. Hell is trying to take it over and it is AWESOME looking ... Imagine the brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell ... Imagine WoW but in a Diablo world in amount of size and playability ... Also, guild housing is available in this game for those of you who know about it. They should have a gameplay demo to show at BlizzCon."
I also found this post on Blizzcon forums while digging around its also shows evidence that game that will be unveiled at blizzcon will be diablo 3

The main argument people have against Diablo 3 being made by blizzard is that a lot of the creators have left the company. If anyone knows anything about Computer game companies they know this has happened many times in the past and the original company continues to make games for a franchise.
Another argument is that blizzard is busy with World of warcraft, well, blizzard has more then one team working on games in the company and they have even announced they are working on 2 un-named projects.
Step back for a second and consider this, Diablo 2 sold 1 million copies in 2 weeks and went on to sell a total of 7 million copies. They essentially have a license to print money by releasing a Diablo 3.
Honestly, if Blizzard has the man power, the rights to a franchise that broke all kind of game selling records and a loyal fan base of a couple million that WANT them to make a Diablo 3, and will buy the game why wouldn't they? I believe the onus is on the non-believers at this point to make a solid argument why Blizzard would be silly enough not to make a Diablo 3.

E3 06: Blizzard confirms multiple games in the works
Console release for new titles being considered, PS3 and Xbox 360 being examined as possible platforms.
By Curt Feldman, Brendan Sinclair,
LOS ANGELES--Despite the overwhelming worldwide success of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment is still looking beyond the franchise to other opportunities.
When asked by GameSpot if the Warcraft universe was all that's left for the company to mine, chief operating officer Paul Sams said, "No. Absolutely not. We have multiple games in development, currently, they are just not announced...to the outside world--and the reality of it is--we are laser focused on what is the thing right then, but there's a ton of additional focus being put toward these other [games] that are in development."
Reflecting on the existing franchises, Sams emphasized, "World of Warcraft and the Warcraft franchise is not the last and the only franchise we are going to operate within. We have two other very, very key franchises to our company's history and to our company's future success. The Diablo and Starcraft franchises are of the utmost importance to us as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new franchise from us at some time in the future; there's certainly a desire to do so.
"
A PR rep later expanded on Sams' statement, clarifying that not only were there "multiple games" in development, but that Blizzard was considering "multiple platforms" for those titles. The spokesperson confirmed that the company was looking at both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but that a decision as to which platform might get the nod had not been made.
In fact, email blizzard asking about diablo3, they sen
t you a reply basically saying that they plan on revisiting the diablo franchise, although they havent made any announcment.
Though I hate to say it, I don't think they would buy that many servers for Diablo 3, yet... that seems a bit overkill for a game that won't see open beta for probably a long peroid of time.
1,500 opteron servers is overkill for ANYTHING. As a network admin and server admin, I know how well opterons work, and how they are suppost to be deployed. It's really hard knowing what blizzard wants to really use them for... I could only imagine... 100 MAX being used for WoW.. Unless they are replacing all of their servers, in which case I guess 400 could be used... 1,500 is just way too many for any company to buy.
Although, they could also just be getting a very good bulk deal on them... but buying servers then waiting to use them is just plan stupid, as you're better off buying somthing current.
wow had 298 servers, they planned on doubling that amound leaving 900 servers lying around.

Has anyone seen a legitimate prequel to any series in the history of gaming? We know in movies and books it's been a staple but I am unaware of any real prequels in the gaming scene.
What's to say we don't play this universe over again from even futher before than Diablo 1 started?
I'm talking if you are up on your lore (and if you listen to Richard A. Knaak) then you'll be enticed by the possiblity of fighting in the Sin War itself and even possibly the entire gammut of conflicts that encompass the lore of Sanctuary.
I believe that if Blizz knows what's good for them they will take the story of Sanctuary and run with it - knowing we've seen where our battles have taken us thus far - why not venture back (a la Caverns of Time in WoW on a MASSIVE SCALE) into what shaped the Diablo universe and battle some age-old demons in a different light?
Can't hurt right?
Maybe I'm wrong. But there is too much lore and world-shaping story to throw away here - if not a prequel then a game that encaptures all that there is to offer in Sanctuary. I want to travel to all the towns and cities that we've been shut off from. What about Kehjistan and the battle of Viz-jun? Let's board boats and travel to the Amazon isles of Lycander, Philios and Skovas. Let's meet the druids face to face in Scosglen.
How about it? We've only discussed what happens after D2X but nothing of what led up to it, which I believe is a far deeper story than what we've experienced thus far.
This is the Diablo 3 I am searching for. MMO or not, this game should bring us the entire story. Blizzard can close the book after they give us all there is to offer as far as I'm concerned.
I think that a prequel would be just as good as a sequel, but i still want to see what happens after the World Stone is destroyed. Idk, I've never read a Diablo book, so i can't say if what happens before what Diablo 1 had in it would be more interesting than what happens after Diablo 2 LoD.
I love the idea and possibility, If not D3 then D4 may be a prequel.

Hello Jay,
Thank you for contacting us regarding the possibility of a sequel to
the world of Diablo. Although we have not made an announcement, there is
always the possibility that we will revisit the world of Diablo at some
point in the future. For further information regarding future releases,
please check our web site - ("http://www.blizzard.com") as this is the
best place to receive the latest information about our games as it
becomes available.
Best Regards,
Kenneth

Hear me out.
I love the idea and possibility, If not D3 then D4 may be a prequel.
I like it.
Hey does anyone have a cached link to the old "rumored" pages of IGN Diablo 3 coverage?
