I haven't seen much, if any discussion on the mechanics of how D3 will operate. I assume it will use frame based hit-check calculations that are simulated through graphics a-la D2, but what about the intricate parts like FCR, FHR, run/walk speed etc? Hopefully Flux will visit this thread to offer some light as he seems to be the D3 oracle around here.

I highly doubt the game will use frames for any sort of calculations, and we probably won't be seeing breakpoints either. D3 doesn't use sprites, but 3d models. Breakpoints only existed to determine when a frame of an animation was to be dropped. Seeing as that's no problem anymore, it doesn't seem likely we'll see it.

PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
