However, in order for that to work there needs to be some way to sort these runewords. Going by sockets is a good idea, but there are still too many runewords to display on one page. There's over a hundreed using only three sockets, so we need to sort more specifically.
Can we sort these by item type? One page for 3 socket weapons, one for 3 socket armor etc? Would that be beneficial?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I was thinking about that over the last few days as well.
I think it would work for splitting it up for the different item types based on the number of sockets. If need be we can also further subdivide into class specific items.

Right. I'll throw up a preliminary navbox and see how many pages it might turn into.
EDIT: Or, we could sort it depending on the input item. Have all amazon bow runewords on one page, all large charms on one page, all rings on one. Doesn't that make more sense than sorting by sockets?

1. If it states AR it is any armor. Torso, glove, shield and so on.
2. HE is any helm, Circlet, Druid or Barbarian Helm
2.1 That goes for shields as well .So a necromancer shield is considered a shield or a Paladin shield is considered a shield.
3. The grouping looks nice and sensible to me

Ive always wanted to do more grouping, Im still peticular on how runewords get written down on the pages, I hope people will keep to the format thats agreeable

Alright. We'll have to point out on these pages then that shield means any shield, and if people want runewords for specifically paladin shields, they'll have to check a different page. It should be hard to accomplish at all.

Well I think the current template we have for displaying items will work very well for our purpose. I'll throw up a first page and then we'll see how it looks and go from there.
Once we're settled on a format, all pages will look like that so long as we make sure it

You'll see some differences. Firstly, there are no links to either runes or weapons on the ZY-El page. This is because I do not know if rune's have changed in Zy-El. Do they have different stats, level requirements etc. compared to regular LoD?
Another difference is the lack of information. Some of the Zy-El runewords have incomplete information. This is because that information was not in the old wiki, and I have no way of acquiring it. That is not exactly part of the move however, but I do hope you players can move it over one of these days.
Lastly, I renamed gmj with High Gem. This was mainly because I did not know what else to put there. Inserting gmj as an item looks bad. And typing out Standard/Flawless/Perfect Gem or Standard Gem or higher looks equally as bad. Is there a term Zy-El players use to describe a gem of standard quality of higher?

I remember seeing in the original mod guide that Kato wrote that it described the items that count for the runewords quite well. We can use that.
[edit]
The runes have different levels and the Zod rune has been replaced with Zy. I believe the stats are different. Gems are also changed as well. Some runewords will use a gem or jewel as the last socket.
I like the look and feel of it.
We will need to make a note when a page to be updated that to take only the bonus from the runeword and not from the standard or better gems, jewels, as well from the magic or rare item that was used. That was one issue we had when players were updating the wiki.
[edit 2]
We can create a term and have it linked to what counts for it. Most of us just got used to the gmj term.
[edit 3]
We never got around to getting all the runewords done. Will need to do it one time.
Someone also created a nice program that helps with finding which runeword you can use.

We can either leave the gmj term and denote to what it means or create a new term. I have become used to the term gmj.
Since runewords in Zy-El can be made in magic and rare items as well. We did not want to add the mods from the magic and rare item since it will be confusing for players when choosing a runeword and finding out that it did not have that mod.
Likewise we did not want to include the bonus from the gem or the jewel since those mods will vary as well.
I like the layout of the Polearms runewords you posted.
It is best that Zy-El has its own page for the stats of the runes and gems.

I'm not particularly fond of using an acronym. It's not at all intuitive, and doesn't say anything to anyone who isn't a veteran of the mod.
What could be used instead?

possible to get a field to denot how many were created, since rw info is driven by people that make it we can show how much a runeword has been made to better know if the variances in stats are pretty much at their extremes
Well that sucks. And of course there's no other way to get a hold of the info short of Kato giving us the files. Can we get in contact with him other than through the keep, where he hasn't been for a while now?

I may still have an email from him. I do not know how much information Kato would give. He likes to have players to find it out or that players give that information to the other players. I do not see Kato giving the files to anyone.

If we look at it, we see that runewords are listed by socket amounts, and with lists to invididual pages to each runeword:
http://zyel.wikispaces.com/Runewords
http://zyel.wikispaces.com/3+Sockets+Runewords
Now having one page for each runeword is a lot of pages used needlessly. I think we should strive for something akin to this: http://www.diablowiki.com/index.php/Unique_Maces_%28Diablo_II%29.
However, in order for that to work there needs to be some way to sort these runewords. Going by sockets is a good idea, but there are still too many runewords to display on one page. There's over a hundreed using only three sockets, so we need to sort more specifically.

Now I'm not too sure about a few things.
1. When it says any armor in the wiki, does that mean all, including clas-specific pieces?
2. When it says helms, does that also include class-specific helms? Same goes for paladin/necromancer shields, amazon bows etc.
3. Is the grouping sensible generally speaking, or should it be changed?
2. HE is any helm, Circlet, Druid or Barbarian Helm
2.1 That goes for shields as well .So a necromancer shield is considered a shield or a Paladin shield is considered a shield.
