Hey there people, just wondering how we should go about creating the monster/item/area pages. There are two methods I've seen:
1. We create ALL the pages as stubs and wait for them to be filled eventually. This has the advantage of massively increasing the article count, creating a sorta latent interest in exploring the wiki. On the other hand, it can also act as a deterrent to new members, being in awe of the amount of incomplete work in here
OR
2. We create each page, one at a time. A slow but steady process that will take a LOTTA time to complete. But it gives a sense of completion and that li'l touch of perfectness that we want in the wiki. Every edit gets reviewed and improved by the other members. And it usually creates a complete page a day. But it will be tedious and can take a helluva lotta time (considering we have potentially 3000 articles to make, 3000 days lol???)
Ok, now some things to be done. Can someone give any suggestions on bringing some variety into the stubs? Back at wikia, we had a few different choices when it came to stubs. A different notice for the items/monsters/locations ... and more, that (if I'm not mistaken) EVula himself had made. It kinda looked cool
And finally, can someone make an infobox for the monsters, runewords and items???
PS - I'm with marking the stubs and improving a bunch rather than waiting for individual pages to be created

I think people can probably do however they wish to approach it. Personally I think I prefer the second alternative though. Adding things one page at a time, you can figure out what can be imrpoved, and test things out on one article, then apply that on the rest. If you do them sporadically, you'll have to do lots of time-consuming updated on a massive amount of pages.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
The second is the best way to go in the long run; people will be more forgiving of missing content if the content that is there is top-tier. If it's a bunch of stubs, people will more readily remark on how weak the wiki is.
I have no problem recreating all those stub templates again... especially if I get to use my multi-rune image again. Heh heh heh...
Ok, we'll do the pages one by one, but first, try getting some volunteers to copy in the stats from the Arreat Summit for the items and monsters. Yeah, each page can and should follow a definite format, so we'll have to review each edit made. I'll be importing the templates one by one as the pages that carry them are made
And should I say that an organized effort can surely make a difference
Ok, here's what I suggest. Take a group of pages, either items, monsters, or areas, let's take monsters for an example. Then, create a single page in the group, with everything it should have (sorta like a boilerplate ;)). We can do Fallen quite nicely, or any of the super uniques. Then, put up all the pages to be created (red links) in a separate page called Wanted Monster Pages or sommin and link it to the main page.
Next, create a small guide in the Wanted Monster Pages page about what a page should look like, the syntax etc. Then, enlist some willing volunteers from the forums. I'm sure atleast 2 members can help Then, give them jobs, organized stuff. First copy the stats, then a short intro (I can do that ;)), then the pics, then when all the basics are up, we can concentrate on the more advanced stuff, like lore, tactics, name origins, trivia etc (not that we can't do that before though ;))
We really need to prep up the wiki into a HUGE compendium before D3's released. Cause the focus is gonna be on D3 info, not many are gonna do the dirty work until they're asked to I'm afraid But that's why this is a better place to start than wikia, cause we know that we have some sorta community who can help

AND WE NEED PICS PEOPLE!!! And i'm not talking about the ones in the content pages, http://wiki.diablofans.com/index.php/Template:Gems. We need ALL the templates to look somewhat like that
