Both people are simply experiencing a story through a medium, just the media are different. Games are newer, and thus not as 'wholesome'

Im writing a PHD Thesis on it
I'd still say that there's a difference between being addicted and not. I mean somebody might enjoy gaming or reading a book but when he's not doing it they will not be constantly yearning to do it and thinking about it - sort of withdrawal symptoms. And only the latter would classify as proper addiction.

And I'm not so sure why being addicted would be a totally bad thing, but I'd still describe someone being addicted to books, as being addicted.

Hardcore gamer = Virgin? Wrong.

Nerd idiot why stays at home = Virgin.

Hardcore gamer that goes out often = Pwns you in D3 in loses his virginity at the age of 14.

Basicly when you go from feeling like you 'want' to do something, to feeling more like you 'have' to do something, is the point where it starts to become an addiction. The reason that that is a bad thing is because you're wasting precious time in your life doing something not based on enjoyment of doing it, without being compensated with something like a paycheck maybe (heh), in return.

That was a pretty funny video. I can attest to how addictive BL can be. I think it's funny that D3 is second in the list and it is not even close to release....awesome.

True... My friend plays a game like its his life. He cancelled our gym sessions for a while just to play the game. All he does is grind. I asked him if he enjoy it. And he doesn't.

Pretty sad.

I'd rather see more nerds who live in their mom's basements than more idiots who go around telling other people "get a life" or "you're sad" or "you're still virgin?!". Seriously? If you're so damn happy with your life and your lost virginity GTFO of everyone else's.

Life is in the eye of the beholder. What you consider "a waste of time" and what you consider "precious" may vary for the person next to you. Mind your own business, and accept others as they are. Instead of namecalling and pointing, look at yourself for once, trust me, you have PLENTY of problems.

Re: Gamespot scared to play D3

Who needs a social life? Ridding the world of evil and owning newbs is way more important than doing gay shit with my friends.

Also, GTA4 was a huge piece of shit and I have lost all faith in any future GTA game.
