I bet some people would actually like business cards.
I had a friend who played d2 all the time, and I would ask him if he wanted to go do a quest or possibly mf, but he would always say no, I getting a really good trade now! He would just have me g-rush him to hell, level up doing chaos runs, and then spend all the rest of his time trading... go figure, he was Jewish.
LOL. Oh man I will not comment on that, I'll let you take all the heat Still though.. LOL
I think it is important to take into consideration Blizzard at the time of each game, and the technology at the various points as well. Everything Blizzard has ever done is gold in my eyes, and they stretch the limits and out-do themselves each game. Diablo 2 was a natural progression from 1, the only fault I feel exists is lack of terrifying atmosphere. I didn't feel scared for the cities, I didn't feel desperate while strolling along as I did in Diablo.
The Tristram tunes send shivers down my spine even today, and while I enjoy it, an ominous cloud still surrounds my Diablo cd case. I'm talking about the longevity of the game. Diablo 2 became a rushed glittery character showcase, with the importance of the newest armor above the real threat... Baal. I never experienced that with Diablo, I may be alone. I still dance at the feeling of earning my gear, and earning my kills, working as a team during multi. and overcoming evil. I must note that this is due in majority to player's attitude's towards Diablo 2, and not a mistake of Blizzard. However, the players impacted the game as they do everywhere, and I felt the shock.
On the other hand, Diablo 2 was much easier to get into and play quickly, it was deep enough to replay over and over, yet slim enough to fit in at any time. Diablo reserves itself by nature for occassions when you have the time to savor it.
I am placing my vote for the original, but looking towards the future more than the past.
Damn man you just made a really good post.. Exactly how I feel about how DII has lost its way. I would love if people would play the game with oneanother, have trade games like they used to (Trade forums really ruins the game for me), and so much more, how it used to be.
