Insight is a very cheap runeword (ral tir tal sol in a polearm) that provides you with the meditationaura (very fast manaregeneration) and thus can be of great use when spamming bonespears or bonespirits or ce's.
That way you can equip your merc with a higher damaging weapon or a more expensive one.
I can't say I've ever seen an Insight...
I've made multiple Hoto's and owned a few COH's, but no Insights...
Has like a leval 20 fire nova on it on death. I love turning those into IG's cuz they are cheap uniques which no one uses and its great when he dies and everything blows up
Actualy, if you have and use an iron golem, then yes it is (insight).
Or make him out of high cb items.
Or you could built around damage returned skills and gear (not very effective and rather slow kills) and make your iron golem out of crap items.
Us poor folk never made runeword iron golems. Be better suited for actually using as a weapon.
And if the golem dies? Your out a runeword and lost an aura or whatever it was providing.
Granted there are some good cheap runewords or uniques that could be used, but I'd never use Beast, simply because I was always poor.

I always plan my builts with 101 skillpoints (level 90).
Builts don't have to be maxed, there are numerous builts that will never get maxed, doesn't make them any less effective and you have something to look forward to the next time you level.
Exactly. I have never made a 90 character, ever. But I killed plenty of them in PvP. I always laughed when someone comes in with a 95+ and i come in with a 70~ or 80~ and they call me a noob, then after I beat the shit and four dollers out of them they always called me a hacker.
wouldnt most ppl be smart enough to make a portal before you could tele there?
When I used to do D2, every time I did a Baal run (And I mean every time) there were at least 3 tp's open.
Then again, fron the sound of it, people on D2 are bigger idiots then ever...
As for bone necros, well everyone always thinks they can take a summoner no problem, but with Silver's setup, heh. Still, as far as I can see, these setups everyone's talking about is uncommon so they wouldn't really be expecting it.
Then again, like I said, it seems people are idiots nowadays...
I don't know, I like things to be fully automatic. Especially when stealing life.
As far as this effect, "15% Damage Taken Goes to Mana" I know that's supposed to be self explanatory, but I actually don't understand fully how that works.
A guy hits you and does 100 damage. That means 85 of the damage he did will be taken out of your health, while 15 of that damage will be taken out of your mana.
Though if you have less then 15 mana, like say 12, then the 3 that didnt get taken out of mana will be taken out of health.
next time i make a summinor in hc ill show u what CE can do in hell difficulty with huge mobs....
I wanna see that... Seriously...hit me up when you make that, lol...

and to Linkx
Yes amp lowers physical immunities by 100%. but cant strip an actual physical immune monster, which is where revives come in and Corpse explosion, since it deals not all physical dmg.
also by turning beast into iron golem only adds 2 k dmg per skely per swing
and they already do 10 k each which is enough to kill most in 1-2 hits, mix in a CE blast an nothign survives a single hit
The one biggest problem I got with your setup though, is that I was -never- wealthy on D2. I mean I've had one Enigma in my Diablo 2 carrier, 2 CoH's.
Now if you had a cheaper version that, say, did 5 or 6k, that would still be good for me. I mean I'd probably piss myself if I was rich enough to just toss a beast on the ground for a iron golem, I ususually just bought 2 or 3 normal daggers when I did use iron golems.

it puts maximum amount possible of sockets depending on type of item and class item
so yes that shield would get 4 0s
set items always only get 1 socket
and uniques as well
Learn something new every day. I always thought it was one socket.
Though I did use shields and whatnot that could have more then one socket, is this a new thing?

As I explained to Ferret, I stay alive by having a high attack rating and a high life steal. I can be almost dead and just hit a monster three times and my life is almost instantly full. I'd like to claim it's a unique survival strategy for Martial/Shadow Sins that I came up with.
LOL
But I'm sure the few others like me have come up with the same idea.
P.S. Serious kudos to Ferret for helping me sort all this out.
Bowazon's use that tactic. Though more-so with mana then with health. Granted they are range...

It can remove Cold immunities if the monsters immunity is weak enough.
(Which means its jack in hell a5...)
I was gonna say, how long have I been gone? Lol.
Occulus Pod? I know I've been off D2 for a while but don't you mean Swirling Crystal?...
Multiple hotos. x.x
Like I said before, I never was normal...
I can't say I've ever seen an Insight...

Spent about a month once trying to get one...
That's a good point. I still never heard of them though. Lol. I should go see the stats...
Found it:
Never heard of it. Is it a newer unique?
Lol. Exactly.
I'd have no issue with using a high level runeword if I got the actual runeword back when he died.
I made a unique into a iron golem once, it died, and i said to myself "Why the fuck did you do that Link??"

Thats why when I am planning a build I always plan it with about 80 or 90 skill points, that way I can call it quits for leveling at 70 or 80.
I have issues when it comes to 50 runs for a level...then again I have issues with Baal runs in general...
Lol. I've always just randomly found a white metal item and iron golemed it. Drops ftw!

I think I read it wrong...
Sorry. >.<
