I was thinking the sAme thing liquorice. That are will be perfect fr our city. Everyne can continue their own things for now until we come up with some plans for the city.
If anyone has any ideas please feel free to share them.
We should build a sports stage lol. In SP i build a soccer stage and it looks great.
Found a huge mine "close" to scyber's fortress.. Got 3 stacks of coal and one of iron so far but it's not even close to be fully explored >_<; After that i will focus on building my house...
Ugh, I really hate the look of cobblestone in this game. But to each their own. I would prefer to build my own house btw
One suggestion I have is to make a well in the center of town, just a 2x2 piece of infinite water, and storage chests with some buckets around it. So water can be easily reached by anyone. Maybe also make a moat outside the wall if you have water anyway ^^. Oh, and the explorers should carry food, signs, torches (lanterns are not really needed for exploration), a compass and a watch. And weapons of course. Leather armor would probably be good enough for most occassions, unless there's plenty of iron. But the explorers are likely to take alot of falling damage which destroys armor pretty quickly, so better to dress light. The town guard can have the good armor
Yeah, traveler should also carry some tools, a minor amount of building material and boats. They will have the responsability of building outposts now and then so they will need the materials. I think this is useful because if we ever come to build huge stuff outside our base we already have at least a place to stay at night.
I guess we will see how it goes. I think when the server finally goes up, the first things we will need to do is just mine and level out some areas. Then, we can start building some communal buildings like place with lots of chests to put building material in. Once, we get that set up, then we can look into individual housing and how we want that to work. All I know for sure is that I want everyone to be able to build whatever type of house they would like.
I would recommend land size determined by the power you have in the society. So the town leader would have the mansion on the hill while the simple miner would have a simple house in the neighborhood. Your land size is also determined by the money you have (gold) so you can buy land from the town leader. You can also buy mountain views, lake views, plain views, pools, and more from the village for gold.
This would also mean that the currency can be gold to make it have some use in the game (along with decoration).
rofl. But i thought we could have some kind of socialist experience here.
@italofoca - glad to have you on board. Are you looking to be the master explorer? Or a traveler/spelunker? If you want to be the master explorer, can you tell ke some ideas you have on expanding.
Yeah i could be the master explorer.
I think the explorer party should try to expand the explored zone based at the resources the group demand. I think at the early stages we will need alot of coals and iron veins so i think natural caves are the priority.
After we set a good stock of iron and coal, we should just move in a organized way and keep recording everything we find (natural caves, strange/cool shaped valleys, etc...).
But i thought the master explorer work more of a organizer then anything you kno. I guess the best way for us exploring the world is let the travelers/spelunkers go to where their think it's cooler. I will coordinate the group by creating and asking a series of things:
- Creat a consistent terriotial language. For example, I'll ask the travelers to mark every natural cave with a huge pillar of crumble stone. So, anyone interested in exploring caves can find one miles away. A fully explored exausted cave can be marked by a pillar with some detail (maybe a T). So, people will know that theres nothing more to look there.
- Make sure that people are exploring different areas. I want to see the whole world marked with our obelisks (even through the world tends to be infinity). So anyone can navigate in distant territories without fear of getting lost.
- Ask travelers and spelunkers to creat, here and there, some outposts. Those outpost would need all kind of useful things people may need when traveling too far away from town (food, boat, meterials, etc..). Those outposts may also be very important land marks. My job will be assure that people are actually building those outposts when traveling.
- Build safe paths in distant areas. For example, put ladders in high mountains, so people may climb it.
- Report important finding to me. I will make a explore journal with all the info other people find.
As i see, the explore division should not only discover the world. A important step to do so is to creat the conditions for people to "survive" away from home. So, when the other people needs to go for a particular area, they will have enough support to do so. Maybe this is not the idea you guys had of a master explore. But this is just a suggestion of how i think the explore team should play.
