Actually, that's just logical thinking: First, there's chaos, right? In chaos there's space to argue with others: Hatred (Mephisto). This soon goes very wrong, people start fighting, and wars emerge: Desctruction. Which makes people afraid: Terror.
What I want to know is:
1. Had Diablo planned to draw a powerful hero to Tristram and take possession of him to get a better body than the child's, or was it just luck for him?
2. What exactly happened to the real Summoner if the one you defeat in D2 is fake?
3. How come Tyrael could come to the mortal realm? I thought the Worldstone was supposed to keep both Demons ánd Angels out? The same goes for Diablo, Baal and Mephisto?
4. What happened to Baal's soulstone after he was defeated? Did Tyrael destroy it?
5. Where did the soulstones come from? Pieces of the Worldstone?
6. What did Mephisto plan to do in Khurast?
7. What did Diablo plan to do in Hell?
8. What purpose did Baal intend to use the corrupted Worldstone for?
9. Why did Diablo allow Marius to follow him? Maybe he thrived on Marius' terror? Actually, this would make sence. We see Marius undergoing the effects all the Prime Evils have on him: he's terryfied when he's traveling with Diablo, he's hurt when he hears Mephisto speak ("and that voice.. it was like a thousand needles in my own heart") and he gets destroyed by Baal.
These questions are very good ones!
I think diablo came by luck with the hero coming to Tristram, except him making a ruckus there would have of course causes heros to come so maybe he planned it.
And no one knows how Tyreal got to Sanctuary I don't think?
He is the ONLY ANGEL in sanctuary, makes him quite unique compared to the other angels IMO.
The Nephalem of Jueda-christianity are nothing like the Nephalem in Diablo.
I'm just saying that Diablo Lore could slightly be derived from actual Religious Lore in real life... I mean Heaven and Hell do derive from them right?
New Poster here, awesome community to be a part of.
NOTICE: SOME INFORMATION MAY BE SPOILER (Info from SIN WAR trilogy)
I've read most, if not all of the books on my own, and I figured I'd throw some info out there.
Concerning the World Stone:
It was created by Inarus to hide sanctuary from both the High Heavens and Burning Hells. Lilith then decided that she was going to take control of the Nephalem and defeat the high heavens and hells on their own. Inarus didn't like that, Killed all of the Nephalem that he could find, and then something or other happened to Lilith, which allowed here to return later on in the series.
Stay with me.
Inarus simultaneously warped the world stone to also supress the powers of the nephalem.
Uldyssian come on the scene, Lilith comes out of hiding, finds him, and then starts to release some of the power he has.
Eventually, it is revealed that the nephalem, in sanctuary at least, can be more powerful then either demons or Angels. (that is, in sanctuary, mortals have the potential to be the most powerful, even when the others are present). Uldyssian somehow changes the structure of the world stone to better benefit mortals and less Inarus.
Big fight between heaven, hell, Uldyssian and his followers, and Inarus and his. Inarus is beat down, gets dragged off by mephisto, and the Angris Council decides that mankind can stay, but everyones memories will be wiped clean of all their powers. That way, they can discover them on their own, but there will still be influence from either side, because it is inevitable.
Now to understand the Nephalem:
The origins of mankind and the result of the hybridization of demons and angels.
Most of the First were Destroyed, but some that survived include:
Rathma (Direct Offspring from Lilith and Inarus/ also founder of Necromancers)
Bul Kathos (Uldyssian meets him too in one of the books, really cool part)
Then the Ancients
- These are all the nephalem I know of.
Then There is Trag' Oul or Trang'Oul (whichever of the 90 ways I have seen it spelled).
He is the protector of sanctuary, and his origins are totally unkown, but it is known that he is there to help keep the balance between good and evil, heaven and hell.
I'm sure i can answer most questions regarding anything here... just let me know
Great info my friend! I am going to have to pick up the books, are they good? They seem very good.
Also, if you check out the "Book of Enoch" and a few others that did not actually make it to the Bible in real life, there are storys very similar to these.
The Nephalem were fallen angel/human hybrids, they were started by Azazel, who led a group of fallen angels down to earth and bred with humans to create very powerful "giants'. One thing to note is that Azazel was very high up and one of Gods main men from what I gather.
Him and Tyreal could be correlated in some way from what I have seen and heard of both, they seem very similar. Except then Azazel is known as one of the greatest evils later on and placed by another angel in solitude/imprisoned forever. Azazel introduced weaponry and make up to humans and started there corruption...
That got God very angry.
Tyreal may very well be a Nephalem in my opinion, because he has more free will and does not follow orders as much as most angels, who take Order as their main priority. Perhaps Tyreal is a Nephalem, not corrupt as I had thought and many others had thought, but just NOT an angel altogether.
He could be a mixture/hybrid, check out the concept art and it makes even more sense... Nephalem?

Maybe he didn't come from heaven at all...?
We will have to wait and find out
