-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
The parasite cannot live without the host. And often the host in turn cannot live without the parasite.

Albrecht dies when the Warrior removes the stone from his forehead.
But as to whether that was because the stone was removed I cannot say for sure, you did just inflict massive amounts of damage to his body. However based on the size of the stone it would appear that it is large enough to piece the skull and enter the brain.
I believe that case case may be similar to when a shard of metal, arrow or blade has pierced a vital artery, and so long as the item is not removed the person will continue to live, should the item be removed the person will bleed to death.

How many times do I have to repeat this, I should really write this down *mumble mumble*
When you kill a Prime Evil it's essence returns to the soulstone, if you destroy the soulstone it sends the essence back to the Black Abyss were it was spawned. If you do not destroy the stone, you or anyone else who happens to get a hold of the stone, can jam the stone into their head and turn into the Prime Evil taht was contained in the stone.
This has been stated by blizzard numerous times. in game by many NPCs, and pretty much anyone who took the time out to learn the lore.

The Nephalem of Jueda-christianity are nothing like the Nephalem in Diablo.

That would imply the taint remains in the shards if the stone is broken, well in all fairness there is no evidence to suggest either potentiality, the taint dissapates upon destruction completely, or it remians in the pieces.

Isn't it just as common as calling their young a calf? Like with most large, warm blooded mammals. Even whales will give birth to a calf. Though I don't know if a male whale is referred to as a bull male.
yeh i think it is, Bull whale.
ok we proved our point, starting to labour it now.

i was actually unaware that male/female elephants were called bull elephant and cow elephant...intriguing... i wonder what cow elephant milk taste like
Seal, Walrus, Hippo, Elephant, Bovine all have Bull and Cow. I think they all come from a common ancestor.

Maybe, they never realised that "Cow King" is actually a contradiction in terms so...
that probably streams from your typical american lack of knowledge, sorry i didnt mean to offend any americans out there but there is like 3 movies with males cows?wtf that cant happen, male bovine is a Bull, female bovine is a Cow. just like Bull Elephant and Cow Elephant.
also they had to change the name of the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, as apparantly a large number of americans dont know what the Philosopher's Stone is, Sorcerer's Stone made more sense to them.
actually Cow King might be correct, been a while since ive done a cow run, do the Hell Bovine have udders (breasts) is not the they could be all male, hence a Cow King could be possible though the use of the word cow is incorrect he should be Bovine King. If Hell Bovine are female the name should be Cow Queen. King implys male.

It could very well be that whoever came up with Bartuc the Bloody was just scrolling through the list of Diablo names at Blizzard and thought, "Yeah, let's just call him that."
personally i prefer our theory, such things are not uncommon in medieval fantasy games/novels/movies/anime/etc.

So youre saying that the Bartuc that follows around Baal is the actual physical body of Bartuc reincarnated and the Bartuc you fight in Diablo 1 is just his armor which has bits of his soul left inside?
uhh pretty much yeh, for lack of a better explanation.
In one of the novels (cant remember which one) i remember reading the first chapter where some warrior puts on his glove and gets corrupted.
Legacy of Blood.
good read that one.

either Baal ressurected him to surround himself with powerful demons, or the one is d1 is like a an incarnation of him in his armor or something.
i dont get how you have two demons with the name Bartuc, either its coincidence and they are two different demons or its somehow the same one.

its kinda weird in D1 you had the Warlord of Blood, which everyone knows was Bartuc the Bloody, brother of Horazon, yet in LOD you had a demon called Bartuc the Bloody. now he cant physically be both. can he?

Is the infomation given in the Diablo novels counted as official lore by blizzard?
if it directly involves the concepts in the games then yes, the novel only demons could be seen as not part of the lore. game only super uniques could be seen as lore though, esp if the are mentioned in the history of sanctuary, Warlord of Blood, Bartuc, Archbishop Lazarus
