Well in the sense most people are saying "corrupted" about Tyrael it seems more like they mean possessed, maybe tainted, or something to switch teams so fast.
I dunno there is a difference between switching sides and being corrupted imo. Seems more like he swapped sides to me. He wouldn't be the first angel to leave heaven uncorrupted. Inarius left of free will as well.
"Tyrael was a fool to have trusted me! You see, it was I who told Diablo and his Brothers about the Soulstones and how to corrupt them. It was I who helped the Prime Evils mastermind their own exile to your world. The plan we set in motion so long ago cannot be stopped by any mortal agency. Hell, itself, is poised to spill forth into your world like a tidal wave of blood and nightmares. You and all your kind... are doomed. "
The thing is, Heaven was never WITH us. They just allowed us to live. The only one actually with us was Tyrael. Most angels could care less what happens to the humans. Tyrael though I would say is least likely to become corrupted though. I don't believe any angel will become corrupted. Does that mean they won't decide to destroy us though? No. They came close to it before.
Nuller you have a pretty valid point. Of course we won't be just fighting demons this time around. I do think they have said though that we won't be fighting angels (at least not until a expansion )
I can understand where you're coming from I just think Tyrael is the wrong angel to be looking at. I propose the angel, on par with if not stronger than Tyrael, that has hated Sanctuary and humans all along. Imperius.
A lot of this article hasn't been updated in a long while but much of it still holds true. Especially the excerpts from texts.
You're right, angels aren't do-gooders, they almost decided to destroy humans because they were the offspring of angels AND demons. The vote was pretty close on whether or not to purge humanity. So maybe now that Tyrael has interfered he could possibly be cast out of heaven, not necessarily corrupted, but now the orders have come down to destroy sanctuary. Both demons and angels want sanctuary as a staging ground against one another.
Sure this is just a theory also but Imperius has hated humans all along, very much so. It seems more logical he'd want to destroy them. Tyrael after all voted against destroying humanity and has always helped.
Just curious where does this Tyrael is corrupted thought process comes from? No angel has ever been corrupted except Izual and he is a speck of dust compared to Tyrael and the other members of the Angiris Council. Izual wasn't even truly corrupted he just took what he saw as a chance for power.

So what makes people think the Angel that has looked out for mankind for thousands of years would be so easily corrupted. Or that he even remains on Sanctuary. He returned to the High Heavens after the Sin War, why would he stay after the Prime Evils were banished back to the black abyss? It seems a popular theme in other cinema but to me it makes no sense according to the Diablo lore. I don't see Tyrael being corrupted in a matter of however long D3 takes place after remaining diligent for all these years.
I don't understand why so many people want Tyrael to turn evil so they can fight him. He's one of the few characters that seem genuinely good. Where was the rest of his kind while the Prime Evils made a comeback?
Staying out of mortal affairs like they had agreed to.
You know something I buy more would be Tyraels sword being corrupted seeing as it's what made direct contact with the worldstone. Maybe he retrieved it later and it corrupted him, or maybe it's still in the crater waiting to be found.
Holy $hit, it took me 20 freakin minutes to try and log in!
Forget just Tyrael, I want to fight the whole Angiris council! I want to fight off both the high heavens and the burning hells, whether or not I can use the "oh that angel was corrupted so I had to kill him" excuse.
If they could fit that into the storyline somehow that'd be neat, not sure how it'd work though.
yeah, tyrael could end up being a pure angel after all of this. i'm hoping to see him corrupted though. anyone hear speculation that we get to fight him?
Well if he is indeed corrupted or has went completely against Heaven we might have to put him down.

Now if he was serious or not, I don't know.
I was looking through this list of Demons and Devil's and I came across the name Turael.
That's only one letter away from Tyrael, do you think Blizzard possibly could have been planning Tyrael's corruption from the beginning?
Staying out of mortal affairs like they had agreed to.
Was just pointing out the armor doesn't look like Tyraels thats all.
Are all of the council equal though, or is there like a head member?
Even if, someone is bound to be more powerful.
