No, no, you're totally right! I can see the Wanderer myself! I just think it's an eye trick, nothing more! But, you could be right about the artists! They often have their mysterious ways inscribed into their work!
Maybe blizzard has no plan, and they are just jerking us around!
(i guess this as already been said in this thread but here's my opinion anyway)
in fact... this meteor is not even directed to him or her... i think this is when the meteor first falls on tristram... if you look closer to the artwork, after the meteor you can see a hole in the floor!
The fact that the meteor landed at tristram gives me 2 reasonable answers:
1) some spiritual force the angels have brought it there
Yeah I wondered about that too but as you said earlier we're seeing images in middle of a fiery blast, so it's hard to make out. If it were not for the Blizzard sketch of the two facing each other down I probably wouldn't have given it much thought. It's kind of fun to consider the possibilities. The angelic character has two sets of wings, one set on their helm and one set on their shoulders, so given there is bright blast I've been willing to consider the possibility the two protruding objects looking similar to the angelic characters wings might be a latent image of that character showing through the mass of fire.
If it iis an angel, he could be turned in a position that makes him looks smaller.
Oh I'll use it.
But seriously, if theres one thing I strive to perfect, it's my knowledge of Diablo.
Tyrael's sword is unnamed.
But he seems to do it for some other purpose sometimes. I hope he stays the same (helpful angel).

You never know with some artists. I've seen some that put whatever suits them in their art.

2)Purely dramatic irony.
If it iis an angel, he could be turned in a position that makes him looks smaller.
I will say this: I won't be surprised to find out this actually does tie in.
