I want to smash through stuff like the other classes do
Like DHs? Seriously, in terms of gearing up for MP10 CMWW is even cheaper than a barb - though barbs are closely to follow. Then comes nothing. I know some DHs who have characters worth billions and still can't farm MP10. Despite being a CMWW wizard myself, I say CMWW breaks game mechanics. As Loroese said, nerf Frost Nova. It would also bring back some diversity. Right now everyone is switching to wizard and creating a CMWW toon just to see what it's like to roflstomp through MP10.
these are recommended stats from section 4 in this guide.
what stats are needed for mp10? with 2.73 aps in mind. please dont count prismatic armor.
It's stated at the end of the guide. 5000 armor, 800 allres, and yes, without Prismatic Armor - completely unbuffed. Works with 2.52 APS as well against multiple enemies, but 2.73 advised for single targets or ubers. My stats are 32k HP, 20 APoC, 52% crit, 2.52/2.73 APS (I have a socketed Chantodo's and an IAS Chantodo's to switch between the break points), 800 LoH, 5000 armor, and 800 allres and it works fine. DPS is quite low though, but I use CMWW almost exclusively in multiplayer with some glass canons taking over the DPS part. (DPS is just a matter of how much patience you have, no one is actually "more efficient" on MP10 than on MP6-MP8).
I'd aim for the 2.5 breakpoint. The LoH returns are about 33% greater than the breakpoint below it, so it's a lot better for game play.
Going from 30 to 33 ticks per WW cast is a 33% greater LoH return? I assume there's some arcane reason for this (these are the wizard forums, after all), but I wouldn't mind a slightly clearer explanation
Obviously Loroese himself should give you the elaborate answer and a "clear explanation", but in the meantime... if you're not afraid of maths take a look at this post where he ran some simulations that shed light on the APS/LoH maths and other stuff: http://www.diablofan...n/#entry1055952
This is a nice idea, but if we would take this discussion further it would show how many choices you have for each specific slot. And in the end, you could create an entire thread just about wizard gear.
I remember we had this discussion in a different thread. Basically, my subjective answer would be yes - based on personal experience (I've played with every amount of HP between 25k and 100k) and maths (as follows). However, it needs to be added that additional HP doesn't hurt. You're definitely not the average Joe player with a limited budget. If you can afford it, there's no reason to not stack any kind of EHP stat (hi@Jaetch ;-)). However, for 90% of people asking question and 99% of anons reading the forum it's about balancing stats to get the most bang for your buck.
If my maths is correct, you're now at 88.33% mitigation (58.28% from armor, 72.02% from allres). Previously you were at 87.28% (58.28%/69.51%). What does it mean? Well, after about 480k incoming damage your additional allres would have mitigated 5k more than your old equip, and thus "outweigh" the loss of EHP. But it's kind of a weird way of thinking. I like to think of it that way: allres/armor is your survival aid for every single hit. The more you have, the more valuable is your Diamond Skin. Once DS wears off/is consumed though, you need HP. HP is basically the buffer you need for lags, heavy hits, start of DSCMWW rotation, and so on. If your buffer is higher, you have a much easier start into any fight, more room for error, and can take more hits (note that LoH regain and DS re-buff is simply about you hitting foes and does not scale with the amount of hits you get, as opposed to barbs' fury). However, more HP does not directly benefit your DS.
Blah. Sorry for long answer, complicated matter. Bottom line, I think you made the right move. I made the same move a while ago and everything became much much easier. HTH (until mastermind Loroese will probably tear my maths apart and give you a more elaborated answer ;-)).
I really have not the good stuff for this (http://eu.battle.net...652/hero/170280), but if I found how to farm more effectively, maybe I should buy a stuff for this.
Oh, and just a question, maybe less DPS than mine with a better APS will be a best choice ?
You need to switch half your gear - you don't have any APoC or LoH right now, and your IAS/APS and crit chance are way too low. May also want to add a bit more survivability, but that's secondary for now. Lots of things to swap if you wanna switch to CMWW, and if I dare to ask... why do you wanna switch? By getting all the necessary stuff that makes this build work you'll have a hard time getting past the 100k sheet DPS mark, since it doesn't look like you have an infinite budget. Also, CMWW for farming requires you to hit a couple of keys many times per second, it's extremely tiring. Don't expect to swap 1-2 pieces of gear and be able to farm MP8+ ;-)
Don't you need to take a few more things into account? Like, crit chance for example? The example I actually had in mind was this calc I posted earlier somewhere on the forums: http://d3cmww.com/cmww?configid=55131
88k sheet DPS, 1.5m real DPS (2 enemies for quite a long fight - simulating ubers here). Results in ~17k LPS, 12k of these just from LoH. Blood Magic would give about 4500-5000 LPS.
No. Life steal gets nerfed to 20% on Inferno, which means it will give you 0.3% life back. Even if your "real DPS" is 1000000, this means you get 3000 life per second. LoH, on the other hand, will give you about 15-20k life per second back.
Use the CMWW calculator to put in your numbers and see how much life per second you get from LoH, and you'll see that it's impossible to get to the same rate with LS due to the Inferno nerf.
Is there anything beyond super tight stunlock? Are you trying to freeze the entire game? Freeze the D3 servers? ;-)
I guess your crit chance is also quite high, so you could probably give up one APoC piece - at least against multiple mobs. But... there's always a trade-off, question is how much DPS you might sacrifice for your IAS then. Remember Loroese's study about the effective DPS loss at high APS break points. But anyways... tell us the results! ;-)
Based on the calculations (which seem to be accurate) the other ones are: 5.0001 (72), 4.2858 (60), 3.7501 (52). Afaik no one has tested them so far ;-)
I think it depends, for me emerald is still much better, both in Archon and CMWW gear. I guess ruby is good for low crit builds. Still working on my Blizzard spec though.
Since this is the CMWW thread and CMWW relies on high crit chance I think the answer is "no" :-)
My Zuni's boots still gives me more dps than a 300 total intel ice climbers when I switch to Chantodo's set (and BT ammy) for CM. I wouldn't recommend swapping that Zuni's boot out unless you can afford a 350 total intelligence ice climbers which are ridiculously expensive.
That's because you have the Zuni chest as well (giving you the 130 int set bonus) and quite high DPS with 300k+. A typical Chantodo's gets about 70% of its damage from the fire damage bonus. That leaves you with about 2% damage bonus from the Zuni boots' poison damage. For your 300k+ DPS this is still a lot, but if you don't consider the Zuni set bonus and your DPS is lower (and to be fair, most people looking for help won't have 300k DPS) they are better off with other alternatives.
In your gear range almost every upgrade needs to be one of the BiS items, which makes upgrades expensive but also easier because there's not much variety for BiS items once you reach a certain DPS.
what do you think about zunimassas chest as the non ias item? so you can get the 2 piece bonus with boots.
I really don't think that the Zuni set is a perfect fit for CMWW. If you use Chantodo's, the non-black weapon makes the Zuni boots useless; the Zuni ring has the most useless of the trifecta stats fixed (crit damage), which makes a good roll insanely expensive; and I think both the Tal chest (for DPS/IAS) or Blackthorne's chest (for EHP/damage reduction/set bonus) are better suited than the Zuni chest, plus a bit cheaper since not many people consider the Blackthorne's chest as being useful.
I'd rather go with Natalya boots+ring for DPS/high CC and then Tal's/Blackthorne's chest, depending on what you need next.

3.3453 for 45 ticks (up from 40) is the next one.
