Out of the ten searches I've done, I got the Crypt six times
You definitely got lucky ;-) I'm not good at these probability maths, but if anyone wants to give it a try, here are the spawn locations and "shared events": http://diablo.gamepedia.com/Fields_of_Misery#Tiles
To me personally it feels more like below 50%. But I could also be unlucky. I did countless runs with my TR monk when searching for the House of Curious for the achievement, and had plenty of maps without the Decaying Crypt.
It helps to memorize this map. As you can see, from the WP always move RIGHT (and a bit up) until you hit the road.
1) If the road is close to the WP, the WP spawned at E or G; go back to check tile F, then go up to D and C.
2) If you hit the event A at upper edge of the map, the WP spawned at B, so just go down to C and do a small half-circle to check D and F.
3) If you don't see the road immediately, and you don't see the edge of the map, the WP spawned at D, so just check what spawned at C and then go straight down to F.
Hi Jaetch, Thanks for the follow-up video!
However, I have a question regarding your farming route. You do both Fields of Misery and Weeping hollow. However, in this post on Barb forum, the poster estimates that exp/hour for Weeping hollow is ~2 times less than Fields.
So the question is: is it worth running WH or is it better to just run Fields + Crypt?
Thanks in advance,
Graf.
Twice as much? That sounds like bogus. His research looks really great, but the "average legendaries per hour" sounds a bit too high to be reasonable (especially since he skipped all elites).
Nubtro has done lots of research, check his numbers here. It also looks a bit more rigorous and he provided lots of proof.
But: note that you can't really compare WW to Archon. Gameplay is fundamentally different. Becomes very apparent at VotA as mentioned above.
I've done lots of paragon leveling (attempts) recently and VotA just sucks for Archon. It absolutely sucks. Theoretically you think you can get 5 stacks quickly, but I personally (despite having a good EHP/DPS ratio that lets me easily farm everything on MP7 and with some effort even MP8) haven't had a single run on MP7 that gave me 5 stacks in VotA without problems (Archon dropping off, dying, whatever).
For every other class: getting 5 stacks in VotA is a great idea. For Archon: nope, at least that's my opinion. I tried really hard as act 2 is brilliant otherwise (if it wasn't for the annoying freaking wasps, act 2 would be perfect).
Edit: can't watch your video for now, Jaetch, but will definitely watch it later and comment and it. Can't wait! (Though I can't play the next 2.5 weeks anyways )
Hm. I read your post past the first line, and wrote a response, but decided to not post it here. I think you should create a new topic for this discussion, as it has almost nothing to do with Jaetch's guide. I'll post my reply in that new thread then :-)
Jaetch, or anyone else, what makes you believe Blizzard will nerf CM?
1) CM is used by 99% of all wizards. Blizzard doesn't like if a skill/rune/passive becomes a necessity rather than a choice.
2) CM (in this context) is often used as abbreviation for the CMWW build, and in this particular build there's just a symbiosis of some spells that is completely broken. They don't necessarily need to nerf CM or WW, but put a cap on DS and FN procs. The first makes you invincible, the latter keeps the enemy stunlocked. Thus, the first lets you bypass content by neglecting EHP yourself (see 300k EHP wizards facetanking and surviving MP10), while the latter makes an entire group bypass content by neglecting EHP (Ghom+Rak uber fight on MP10 is one of the most difficult challenges in the game, but with a CMWW wizard all other 3 players can un-equip half their gear and still beat it single-handedly).
3) Archon and CMWW are the two most popular builds for wizards and both kill the skill diversity. If both were "nerfed" by a bit (or all other builds were made a bit stronger) you wouldn't feel like shooting yourself in the foot while trying out a new, non-standard build.
Afaik, Blizzard hasn't specifically mentioned that they are looking into CMWW, but I sure as hell hope they do. I am a wizard, carrying my (weak) friends through MP10 uber fights, and I think this is beyond creative use of game mechanics. It's a commonly accepted exploit, in my opinion, and it needs to stop (which might also make some people aware again that there's actually something called "defensive stats" in the game).

If I could I would give you another +1 just for the end
Amazing job. Only a matter of days before this should get you featured a third time in the Community Commentary column :-)
Also, they literally can't kill Archon now... it would make the best guide ever obsolete. No wai!
