The lore of the Wizard class is that she is supposed to be above elemental magic. Granted, she has "storm" which is lightning and cold but the other skills are arcane and conjuring. Fire is given to the because fire itself is very primal. I think it matches him well. They also had to give it to someone, it's too classic to leave out.
If you want to see what skills the wd has, check out the wiki. I personally updated all of his skills based on the blizzcon 09 demo. He has some pretty cool fire abilities. My favorite is a ring of fetish that breath fire.
I personally think the wizard shouldn't even have the ice/lightning skills.... i think they shoulda made the class entirely non elemental. ( and maybe brought the sorceress back in the xpac as an elementalist)
lol Sorc should have totally been elementalist...
I totally agree with this
however, how hard would it be to make a pure-arcane based
I can maybe think that time shifting is nice
Arcane Bolts are nice
Telekenisis is nice y'know stuff like that
I REALLY WISH I SAW SOMETHING NEW LIKE:
Air?
Earth?
etc. I always thought air was kinda cool to be a power
well.. Cmon lol Warlock makes total sense. Isnt like a warlock a hell-ish type of mage ?
Summoning demons.. Demons living in hell.. wich has alot of fire.
I do admit the witchdoctor shouldnt have alot of fire skills, like he shouldnt be a master at it. Just the firebomb i find makes sense the rest to me doesnt really.
I haven't thought about hellish shit, lol, thanks for that totally makes sense
and then the firebomb is still more than which the mage has, to be honest mage w/o fire just isnt' the same
mage w/o lightning would be better... mainly cuz' I love the whole arcane idea
I think it makes sense.. I mean the firebomb anyways.. cuz well im pretty sure thats what witch-doctors do, make potions.. bombs.. that kind of stuff. Aside from making voodoo dolls and controlling peoples minds.
when I think of Witch Doctor, I think more of y'know, curse, potions, controlling shit, and like more shadowy/zombiesh
not once have I ever considered Witch Doctor to = fire
same with Warlock in WoW now that I think about it
Why are you getting disappointed with Diablo 3 before it even comes out? Just have fun when it does and don't worry if it's not living up to your conceived notions.
No, I'm simply wondering where is the logic in Witch Doctor + Fire?
One question, why does the Witch Doctor have fire spells, to be honest, I do not like it, not one bit, it makes almost no sense.. I always loved being the offensive frost / fire, maybe the switch for arcane and lightning why not, but other than that, I always assumed fire to be more offensive than anything...
For Wizard being the most offensive, and Witch Doctor, more being (in my opinion) the poison/curse etc. I do not see why Witch Doctor should get fire.. not only that but where does the idea of Fire + Witch Doctor come from?

actually I quit WoW, I've played it don't get me wrong, but I've always enjoyed Diablo Two more than most things
but I'm also playing Soul of Ultimate Nation
and almost every other roleplaying never had a mage, wizard, or w/e w/o fire
another example is Dragon Age...
I am just trying to get where does Fire come to Witch Doctor?
I'm sure their will be more..
My question is why does he get a firebomb (kinda like a fast meteor) instead of the Wizard (Which would make even more sense)
doesn't every element?
so why not give him Thunder? or Earth? air even, lol..
