Some people here are really thick headed..I mean do you need a link when there is an option on this site that allows users to show their battletags to people?I mean its right there in your face?#Spoonfedgeneration
I'll give 200,000,000 theoretical E-dollars to anyone that can find a link to my Monk. It's hidden, hard to find........where could it be....
Thx for input but met me assure you that I've been testing just about every build in the book and then some,
beeing around since release. With my current gear I still find myself returning to the originial
cookie cutter, sometimes with minor modifications (like combination strike, EP etc) - the reason beeing simply that there is no
superior build imho.
It is highly efficient and simple to use, I'll give ya that. I used it for some time and really didn't get away from it until X-palm and some other key buffs. Something about just holding left-click the entire time made me write in pain until I got away from it. Good monk btw....sorry if I was snippy about the build, it's nothing personal.
You're using the Combo Strike passive....with only one generator. Not the first time I've seen the inept tool-tips lead someone to this mistake. Combo Strike only works if you use two generator attack i.e FoT and Deadly Strike for example....
Not sure how you tested it, but I can assure you it works with only one. 8% damage increase with only one generator.
Really, I'll have to take a second look.....
Yep I have no idea how I missed it. The tool-tip SHOULD read "Adds 8% damage increase AND an additional 8% per each different spirit generator used."
The way it's currently worded, it suggests that you must use a "different" generator to garner the 8% increase. I've tested it before and wasn't watching for the first tick. As well, I heard many others think the same thing I thought.
Your monk is quite nice, but some suggestions: you need more resist so you can use conviction mantra instead of healing mantra and I suggest you start looking for a witching hour with lighning resist on it. Also, you're going full dps on both bracers and helmet with very little ehp coming from these items, maybe consider another helmet with resist instead of SW bonus - gearing is always a conflict of dps vs ehp/sustain and you'll need to find a balance. Sooner or later you will also need to get at least one weapon with life steal. THe amulet could also be a easy place to improve, maybe both dps and resist quite cheap.

That build makes me want to fucking puke (no offense to you personally, I just got so sick of it from back in the 1.03 days). So 2012...so many new build possibilities and people are still using this tried and true cookie cutter build.
Other than that, I like what I see. Just ditch the CS passive.
i use a similar combination build, except with wothf instead of DR, for more ias and run speed
^^This was absolutely awesome. It took me back to the good old days of running Hell Cows with my Zealot.
Unfortunately I had to ditch WothF for Deadly Reach's Foresight. As was noted above by Zorgmeister, I was woefully inadequate in the Life Regain department, something I was previously aware of and had been pulling my hair out trying to solve.
I was putting it off because of the myth that gaining LS while maintaining decent DPS output was going to cost me assloads of gold.
I spent 2 million and solved this issue with great result.
I lost 20k DPS but I've been farming MP6 on Act 3 for 2 hours and have yet to die, have facerolled a Champ pack of Reflect Damage/ Shielding/Fast/Molten Phasebeasts like a fuckin boss.
I must've saved 200k in repairs alone and the investment is obviously going to pay for itself in a days time. These Butcher's Sickles are outstanding utility off-hands but they can roll godly property numbers, ranging as far as over 1k DPS with hefty amounts of Dex.
very nice monk ruksak, high life regen, didn't see life regen stacked in a while i see you don't have life on hit or life steal too much, on what mp do you farm and how often you die?
high dps good life, i think you should up your armour a bit, as your rezists are high enough maybe search to exchange the rares to have armour or str, str should be cheap in decent numbers
have fun !
I had about 1k LoH before rolling my Hellfire. I had to replace the ring that was there so I could enjoy the 35% para XP bonus. So I'm currently saving to buy a new weap with some LS and gonna try to fit in some additional LoH somewhere else Currently only getting about 400 from Blackthorne's.
The high Life regen is more of an unintended benefit that accumulated from the gear I put together without thought to actually gaining life regen. As I'm sure most of us know, LR is far too weak to really cause any noticeable benefit by itself. It has a decent coefficient when paired with high LoH, but aside from that it is a rather innocuous property. I guess you could say I accidentally stacked LR.
The build it shows in my profile is just an experimental thing I was trying to make work. I've gone back to my old faithful.....
I farm on MP5 for efficiency sake. Can handle MP7 but due to my lack of Life Steal, Reflect Damage has become a serious discouragement to going any higher than MP5. It's a shame that there's an affix (RD) that requires a specific weap choice (but that's a different conversation ). As I really don't have issue with anything else in particular, dying only to your usual assortment of goofs and bad circumstance (i.e. vortex'd back into a stack of molten and desecrate while Serenity is on cooldown).
Lately I've been switching my Deadly Reach rune Foresight (18% damage buff) for Keen Eye (50% armor) which gets me up to about 6500 armor....helps a lot on higher MP.
Well, troll attempt aside...... I was more or less commenting on the lack of build diversity in the Monk Class. The same build can, however, be tweaked in many interesting ways. I gave up on my attempt at using a Ex-Palm/ SSS build. It was fun and different, but not nearly as effective as the many variations of the FoT/Cyclone.
It seemed a good time to comment on this as the chain of 'Rate the Monk above you' had been broken. A chance to restart it, I thought.

Helluva an idea. I eyeballed WotF awhile ago and forgot about it. I might give that a look, Thanks.

Fantastic. I've been meaning to play around with Tempest Rush. How are you liking it?
Oh.....and about how much did you give for those Prowler Bracers? I've been pricing them and the asking prices are all over the place.
Fine monk though, Elinar.
